I've started leaving my hair to dry naturally and I can't stand it smelling of vinegar for so long! I also don't want to smelling of vinegar when I'm in Canada, lol.
I've heard people using vodka, but I think that could be quite pricey.
Any less smelly alternatives other than vodka?
Citric acid? Easy to get hold of and apparently just as good and non-stinky π
I use apple cider vinegar on my dreadlocks, I've found that diluting it and adding a couple of drops of citronella and tea tree essential oil really overpowers the smell of vinegar. I love the effects of vinegar for hair but the smell is awful as it comes back when your hair gets wet (which is pants living in the UK as its always wet!)
Try mixing your ACV rinse with teas or essential oils. That takes away some of the scent. Also, I have been doing ACV's before I condition, so most of that weird scent is gone by the time my hair is dry.
I'm going to have to try the citric acid!
I usually leave my conditioner in for at least 10 minutes, then i sqeuuze out any excess conditioner, then I statt putting the vinegar rinse through my hair + rinse it out with cold water. My hair always feels awesome after + it doesn't smell like vinegar at all. I use Suave's Tropical Coconut (silicone free) conditioner which has a strong coconut scent for a conditioner anyway, that may add to why it doesnt smell like vinegar too...
