it's called: loreal nature's therapy mega sleek deep conditioning creme. longest name ever, lol!
i just bought it at sally's a few days ago, while i was looking for a good, moisturizing deep-conditioner. it says it's sulfate free, but i dunno about silicones... i feel like i'm never sure what i'm looking for, aside from the -cone suffix. i'm not sure it's good for what i need. any thoughts?
these are the ingredients, if that helps:
aqua / water / eau, cetearyl alcohol, helianthus annuus seed oil / sunflower seed oil, behentrimonium chloride, cetyl esters, stearamidopropyl dimethylamine, glycerin, quaternium-87, phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol, isopropyl alcohol, parfum / fragrance, candelilla cera / candelilla wax / cire de candelilla, hydroxyethylcellulose, propylene glycol, benzoic acid, citric acid, argania spinosa oil / argania spinosa kernel oil, cocos nucifera oil / coconut oil, coumarin, trithanolamine
I don't see any silicones, but if I remember correctly stearamidopropyl dimethylamine is a "silicone replacement" so it kind of works in the same way as a silicone but doesn't have the build up issues that silicone does.
I would personally like to see coconut oil further up on the list but my hair is often terribly dry. The few reviews I found on it are positive though. It has a 5 star rating on Makeup Alley (with 2 reviews).
It looks like it's pretty good! Let us know how you like it! I'm really curious about it now, what the consistency is like, if it feels like it's actually moisturizing well, etc
well, it almost seems like the consistency of mayo? i'm probably going to go another day or two before i wash my hair, but i'll update when i try it.
update! ok, i tried it yesterday-- i shampooed and conditioned, then used it. i worked a decent sized glob into my towel-dried hair, concentrating on the ends, then clipped it up and let it sit for about twenty minutes before i rinsed.
it definitely is mayo-like in consistency, and it's only very slightly fragranced, so i was definitely put off by it. and it's in a jar, so i had to scoop it out with my fingers. ah! gross!
but, it left my hair feeling soft and looking pretty fabulous. i didn't heat style, so i got a very tiny bit of frizz in my waves as my hair dried. i usually get more, like i'd get from being outside on a humid day, and it calms down once it's dry and i can comb it. but, a super tiny dab of coconut oil smoothed into my lengths was all i needed to fix it up perfectly. so, honestly, i dont think i really needed to comb once it dried, but i did anyway, and i had zero knots/tangles. that was cool.
all in all, i'd say this was a good purchase, but nothing amazing. ...four out of five stars? lol
