Ion Absolute Perfection Booster

This product is similar to Olaplex, but it's available to non-professionals.

I was wondering if you guys think that I could mix this with Colorfix? My hair is kinda damaged and I'm worried about breakage, I was hoping, that if I mix this with colorfix, it could lessen the amount of dryness/damage/breakage that comes with using Colorfix.

I doubt it would be a good idea to mix it.
With Olaplex, they recommend using it prior to a colour remover so the hair is in the best condition first, which makes sense to me.

Would I be able to apply it by itself to my hair then?

I have only used Olaplex, which can be applied as a treatment on its own.
A lot of these new products that claim to be like olaplex really aren't at all so it will depend entirely on what it actually does and the ingredients it contains. Do you have an ingredient list?

Ingredients here: http://www.sallybeauty.com/step-one-booster/SBS-405017,default,pd.html
Humectants, emulsifiers, anti-static, hydrogenated castor oil and a little bit of hydrolysed wheat protein (and pea protein??).
Personally I wouldn't mix it in with Colorfix as it will probably make it less able to do its thing to the dye in your hair. If you find Colorfix bad for your hair have you tried Color Oops?

From what I've read, both color fix and color oops are drying. and Sallys only carries Color Fix.

I agree, you want to use colour removers on clean, clarified hair without any build up, all those ingredients would hinder it working.
What dye are you trying to remove? If it is a direct dye the bleach powder/shampoo/oils method is pretty gentle. It isn't as effective on oxidative dyes though, for those olour removers are really the safest option

it was an oxidative dye, on top of 2 layers of direct dye. I did the color remover, and now I have a deep conditioner in (with no silicone or anything) and I mixed the ion oil w/ the conditioner. that's chillin in my hair right now.
