I wash my hair everyday :O

I was gonna put this in my other thread but it's a separate issue really

I've always washed my hair everyday and I know it's damaging and awful for keeping colour! But I can't seem to stretch my washing. I don't find any of the dry shampoos I've tried work (batiste/own brands/treseme). My hair still feels greasy! It feels greasy shortly after I wash it to be honest. If I skip a wash it's practically stuck to my head and flat with grease!

How can I do this?

I once tried co washing but it felt greasy still. I expect I'm just used to the clean feeling lol

You just need to persevere to be honest. There's just no other way!

Also, it's highly possible what you're feeling isn't really greasy. It's just not feeling 'squeaky clean' to you any more. You don't really want that feeling because that means it's stripped of oil which is bad. The fact that it's feeling greasy soon after you wash makes me think this even more. You obviously are producing too much oil if it's stuck to your head the next day, so you're really going to have to start stretching them out.

Try putting your hair back in a pony tail and getting on with something that takes up your attention.

Stretch to 2 days at first and stick to it. No matter how bad it feels, I can guarantee you it doesn't look as bad as you think it does. On the second day use the dry shampoo, use one for dark hair (I think there might be one for red hair) and that will help.

After that gradually start going to 3 days etc.

It should get easier and if it doesn't, maybe there's something else going on. There are some conditions that cause excessive oil production on the scalp. I can't remember them off hand, but one definitely has something to do with hormone imbalance.

To be quite honest, I have no excuse! My hair is tied up most days. I just love that squeaky feeling lol I know it's bad but I guess I'm used to it! You're completely right though I do need to persevere!

You really should, if only to see if it's persistent and potentially something else! If it is, then you can work on getting it sorted out πŸ™‚

Kirsty I was much like you and i just couldnt work it out - but my hair ended up suffering from the blowdrying and straightening daily. Like, bad.

Anyway i recently made the move to silicone free conditioners.  Its really helped as they are less heavy. Last week i managed to go 2 washes in a week, quite a miracle for me lol. Sulfate free shampoos would be great for the red colour i noted you wanted in another thread.

Really, i think i was going OTT with conditioner and i never would have imagined.

Think about the time saved, washing every day is so much effort, even washing twice a week feels like its stealing too much time sometimes πŸ˜›
