Here!s what happened... I dyed my whole head dark blue with Tonika hair dye, which is a hair dye line supposed to be temporary colour that fades easier than semi permanent dyes... But something went wrong and it stayed a long time. I decided to fade it with vitamin C and anti-dandruff shampoo mix, which did fade the colour, but the green that was levt afterwards, was terrible. I also made a mistake of dying my hair with blonde box dye, which also made my roots lighter.... (see the top left photo for results).
After that I read somewhere, that red neutralises green tones and helps in going brown. I decided to chop off my dead ends once again and applied red dye, which did fix my hair and it's now fine really (See other photos).
My hair now is kinda reddish, mahogany colour, which I don't hate but grew tired of. I need to ask for opinion. what if I use my colour oops (or I also have color zap) to remove colour after I fade it a bit and then dye my hair that same blonde I used before, just to make my whole hair like the roots on first photo? Do you think I can achieve an even colour and look? Or should I not risk it and go back to ombre colours or go for lighter red colour instead? I don't want to make any more silly risks... π
I think the best plan is try the Color Oops and see what you end up with, if it gets rid of the green then go ahead with the blonde, but if not maybe try to go for the lighter red. There's really no way of telling until you try fading and removing the colour as people's hair reacts differently to different colours and treatments.
I think Color Oops is better than the Color Zap as it is less damaging. You can generally use colour removers 3 times and you should rest it a while and wash it a few times before dying it again afterwards to make sure it is fully out of your hair or it can re-oxidise and turn back dark! (sorry if you know all this, I always tend to write as much info as possible for people reading it in future!)
Color Fix is the best one though I've been told. I'd suggest getting that.
Yep color fix is the one to get the color oops only destroys hair, its total garbage, I wish they would stop making it
Thanks a lot. I'll get Color Fix then and see what I end up with.
So I'm going to update on what happened. I used Colorfix and removed colour, but the under colour of my hair was the same as first picture. I'll add attachment to this comment too.
I dyed my hair dark brown, hoping this would kinda fix things, but some oarts of my hair are now blue and some are brown. I cut off some ends and used olaplex treatment. now my hair feels better both wet and dry. I'm thinking about ways how to get my blonde back. I have one more pack of colorfix and I could fade my hair, then use colorfix... But I might still end up with same greenish tones. I have already tried red and red dye did nearly nothing... are there any other ways other than hair dye to neutralize those green tones? I think I'm going crazy because of this hair... It drives me insane. Makes me want to chop it all off at once -_- *ott*
What red dye did you use? There's not really any other way to combat green staining. Well, not that I know of.
I think it was Syoss Oleo Intense at first, but then after I faded it I tried a temporary red colour by Tonika (Тоника), still nothing. After I fade the colour, green seems to still be there... I'm thinking of just dying the whole head with Manic Panic Enchanted Forest again (I once had a gorgeous ombre that I miss). I also thought about dying whole head brown, but that will bring back the original blue I was trying to escape from... So do I need to first dye my hair with one of MP's red colours? Or do I need to do some red conditioning? Or do I have to put Ketchup on my head like other people do? 😃😃 I think my phychologist will go crazy too on tomorrow's visit 😂😂
No well, to be honest, the difference between the innitial green and what I'm left now is quite big, the green that I have now is more faded. Maybe red dye worked after all. But do I just need to do something else with red dye and experiment further, or can I just use onother botle of color fix and this might go away?
Any red is going to fade... It doesn't permanently remove the green, because it isn't removing the green at all. It's covering it with a colour that neutralises it and, unless it stains, it will fade and you need to add more until it's grown out or stains.
Dying it brown, you'll still need the red. Ketchup will work for even less time. You just have to keep adding red. As it's "faded" already, then the red you've used has either stained a bit or the green has faded some more. It's most likely a mixture of the two.
You can try more colourfix, but it's as likely to remove the red as the green. In fact, it's more likely to leave the green and remove the red as the red is fresher and the green is old staining.
