Hiya π
I am looking for hairstyles that can be achieved with long hair and an undercut - updos in particular, or ways of showing off my length (and colour) but keeping it reasonably contained.
My usual styles are simple braids or buns, which are fine, but a bit boring.
I have long hair, mid-lower back, but only from the top of my head. The back and sides are buzzed off. So interesting styles are difficult. Volume is almost impossible to achieve without backcombing, which I refuse to do.
I've tried fishtail braiding but with so little (but so long) hair it takes ages and looks wimpy. I'd need to bulk it out with ribbons or something (hmm there's an idea).
I've tried looking online but all I can find are either full-heads with a small sidecut, or the occasional big mohawk, or variations on "leave your hair down".
Anyone up for a challenge? π
A very simple but nice up do I think is to put your hair into a pony tail & curl the hair. Or to French braid the top section of your hair & stop at the pont tail so there's not too much going on, how high is your under cut?
My undercut is literally the whole back and sides of my head.
Just hoiked my hair up out of the way to illustrate;
French braiding is on my to-learn list ... I've tried but can't get the hang of it yet.
French braiding is really simple once you get the hang of it. I learnt by learning a Dutch braid first which I found much easier to do, then when I tried the French braid it wasn't as fidley.
I used to curl my top pieces . I did have some that went down the back in a mohawk like fashion but mostly I only had hair on the top. i would curl it and pin it into place. which added some volume. I will post a picture if I find some.
