I usually leave mine in for about 20 minutes. But my hair over proteins easily so I have to be careful with it.

I have left it on for 2 hours before and it felt great afterwards - but my hair loves protein. I think it depends on your hair how long you can actually leave it in for. If your hair feels dry and brittle afterwards (instead of soft and sleek) you've overproteined. A deep moisturising treatment will fix that usually.

What does it mean "hair overproteins"? I'm curious πŸ™‚

Oh, my hair gets really dry and brittle if I leave heavily porteiny products on it for too long.

So would you say it is in addition to a deep conditioning treatment? I have just bought the k-pak shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair and i was planning on using the reconstructor monthly & thats it.

However i currently using Aussie colour mate shampoo and 3 minute miracle as my conditioner (i decided it cost the same as the normal conditioner, so i may as well use the one which made my hair feel best- probably due to cones?)

Maybe i'll still need to use the 3 minute miracle weekly or something as a hydrator? or something from joico... Might have to wait a while as I've spent a load of hair bits lately!!

I used to use the Aussie 3 minute stuff and it is absolutely loaded with cones which is why it makes your hair feel so good. I think your current plan is fine, but you might need to add a deep conditioner for after your k pak reconstructer days of the normal joico conditioner is not moisturizing enough πŸ™‚

k pak reconstructer can make your hair feel really dry.

edit: it's definitely an addition to a deep conditioning treatment, deep conditioners add moisture and reconstructer add protein back in to your hair to improve the condition.
