So, i heard alot about coconut oil and how awesome it is for your hair. Im giving my hair some lovin' atm as im gonna try and shift this pink to go blonde with lilac tips. 100% virgin coconut oil is the best to use but im a poor student so got the superdrug stuff which is 2 for £2.99 at the moment.

First off, when i opened the tub i was suprised how solid this stuff is! its harder than butter, i couldnt make a dent with it with my finger so had no idea how to get it on my hair! In the end I put it in a sink of boiling water. It would have been much quicker to microwave it but im in halls so share a kitchen with 11 other people who might not appreciate me heating hair products in there.

Here is my hair before the oil, a bit foofy and not so shiny, its not awful but could be alot better.

I started to put it in my hair by dipping my comb into the pot and running it through my hair, this worked well and spread the oil evenly through my hair, I then dipped my ends in to get them completely saturated in oil. I kinda made the oil go pink! This does take some of the colour out of your hair so be careful!

This is when I'd finished applying it, nice n oily hair, smells amazing though.

I then cling filmed it up! Put a towel on my head so i looked a little less insane if someone knocked on my door. Then I had to kill some time, watched a film, painted my toes, did some uni work....

It says on the tub to leave it on for 2 hours for oily/normal hair or overnight for really dry hair, i left it on for about 3 hours, my hair isnt really dry but it is no way normal. I will definately leave it on longer next time, I had to go out so i had to wash it off. Here it is after 3 hours, its definately soaked up alot of the oil:

I washed it out using elvive triple resist, i only rinsed it once with this as it no longer felt oily, i ran a little bit of conditioner through my hair, even though it says not to, just to remove any traces of the oil.

And taaddaaaa:

Alot less foof, alot more shine, and its oh so smooth, i keep stroking it (i looked a bit special on the bus haha)

Will definately be using this again, i only used half the pot so it spread quite well, I have really thick hair so assumed it definately use the whole tub. If i did this once a fortnight my hair would be in fantastic condition!

Hope this helps anyone!

I am such a convert to this stuff, I coated my hair in it before bleaching it as recommended by one of the lovely ladies on here and I've had no breakage, no drying out, and my hair is softer and shinier than before. It feels absolutely gross when it's going on I find but after that you get used to it and when you have it all washed out your hair looks and smells amazing. Try it, it's so cheap, I'm in love haha

I love superdrugs coconut oil. I leave it on overnight due to old bleach damage and get amazing results. Your hair looks soo good! Also what is that colour? Its gorgeous. I'm becoming a bit of a pink convert lately.

Thanks, it started with cherrybomb and atomic pink mixed in equal parts, but it's lightened up quite a bit now. I like how its more raspberry than full blown pink =]
