So a few days ago, I chopped off my hair. I cut it below my shoulder but wasn't happy with the length, I wanted it shorter so I snipped a few more inches off.
I really liked it but still wanted it a little shorter. Today I cut off about 1.5 inches and now I don't like it haha. It's just a bit too short for my liking now and a little choppy and uneven. I can't even afford to go to a hair dresser. So now I'm feeling dumb and have to put up with my hair until it grows out a bit.
How do you deal with having a haircut you don't like?
That is why God invented the pony tail lol
Yup yup, I just grit my teeth, dye it a fun colour and wait for it to grow out.
When I'm dissatisfied with how my hair looks I wear hats. 😀
I have a lot of slouchy hats for instance! Other hair asseccoires (I hate that word, sorry if it's spelled wrong) can help too. I have some gorgeous headbands from Janine on this forum, they make bad hair days a lot better. 🙂
Many times hats have saved me from a bad hair day.
My problem is my head is telling me it's shorter than it is, ya know? In my head my hair is chin length but really it just hits the top of my shoulders which is fine, it's just not the best length for me.
The last time I got a shitty cut I wore wigs until it grew enough to get it fixed...But this was partially due to the stylist using a 425 degree Chi straightener on my WET and extremely fine hair. I'm sure you can imagine how crispy it looked.

Is it long enough to clip up until it grows ? or could you buy one of these clip in hair extensions and wait for it to grow back out. *gun*
Saying that I am getting mine cut this week from shoulder length to a a line bob *ott* only because I need top get rid of all the hair that's gone from balck to platinum blonde, plus there is a few different colors lingering down the hair.

I really hate having my hair up in any way, so I'll just wait it out. I'm getting used to it more now so it's not too bad.
Like I said, I'm imagining it shorter than it is, so when I look in the mirror I'm like "Oh, it's not as bad as I thought".

Sometimes its a shock when its cut, I am going from shoulder length to Aline bob next week so I might be upset too *ott*
I usually cry, then go into a miserable funk for about six months. I'm not helping, am I? 😉
I find those hippy/ flapper style elastic headbands help - they let you arrange your hair nicely then hold it in place - plus coz they hold it down it looks longer! That and braids, lots of braided up dos with wispy front bits down to hide my moon face!
I'm currently trying to grow out what was supposed to be a lightly layered shoulder length bob and turned out above jaw length with heavy layering in a bowl shape at eyebrow length - not my strongest look! I feel your pain! I'm finding taking vitamins seems to be helping it grow faster though if that helps! (that and not heat styling/ dying less frequently).

^ This is why I don't get my hair cut any more! I haven't been near a salon in over a decade lol
I'm a hair model so I've had loads of wild and wonderful styles which look incredible when I'm in full make up and fabulous clothes and heels, not so much when I'm in leggings, trainers and glasses. Bandanas, hats and hairbands are my friends. I often find after a few days I like the style more though.
I add accessories and clip a few sections up when I don't like a haircut I've had. Is your new length the one in your profile pic? It looks good!
The last time I had a haircut I disliked was a situation pretty similar to yours. I asked my mother to cut my hair because I just wanted a couple inches off but she cut way too much and my bra strap long hair was barely reaching my collarbones. The only thing I could do was just waiting for it to grow back but even if it was a bit of a shock at first, I got used to the length and didn't bother so much... maybe in some days it'll look better to you? and even if you said you can't afford to go to a salon, maybe you can go and ask if they can fix the uneven bits for a cheap price?
