Hot Roots

I need some help figuring out how to fix a "hot roots" mess I created. I used 8M & 7M with 20 vol for a touch up with someone who has maybe 25% grey. Well I think I left it on too long because now her roots are very light. How can I get her back to the 7M/8M brown color. Should I just redo it with 10 vol? Please help!!!! I have attached a photo for you help.

Her ends look much darker than a level 7, 7 is a light brown/dark blonde, the ends (in that pic at least) look to be a level 3. What product did you use? I would go over it with a darker brown on just the roots and 10 vol or lower to match the roots to the ends.

Wicked Pixie, I think it may just be the lighting. Originally we did the 7/8 mix all over and now her greys were showing again. I used Matrix SoCo

Did she have previously dyed hair or was it all virgin?

She had color on the ends so we lightened them before putting the 7/8 M mix on her hair

Since her ends were previously processed, there is a possibility that they grabbed the color better than the roots. Try a second application with a very low peroxide (10 or less as wicked pixie said) and hopefully that might even it out. If not, then You will need a darker color on the roots.
