Evening folks, long time no post but I have spent the last few months boring box brown and trying to be kind to my hair while I let it grow for a bit!
Now, much as I don't mind the natural brown colour (I would even go so far as to say I quite like it), but the condition of my hair is still pretty rubbish. I have just had a decent cut but it is still fluffy rather than the sleek and smooth hair of my dreams. I've been really good and have only touched up the colour once in 6wks and minimise the heat styling to around once a week or less. I am doing regular conditioning treatments and using coconut oil about once a fortnight too. On top of that normal box colours are pretty rubbish at sticking to my greys too and seem to slide off within a couple of weeks.
So my question (finally!)...if I did a henna colour (something like Lush) would this help with my current issues??
A xXx
I'm not meaning to be rude, but why do you think using box dyes is being kind? Especially if you're going over the hair each time it'll be worse than what you've been doing up to starting using them. Best would be to just do the roots and leave the rest alone, then going over with adore browns.
I'm not a massive fan of henna, so I can't really answer further. I believe it will appear brighter on grey hair though, so you'll have highlights of brighter colour where your greys are.
Ah I didn't mean the box dye was kind, I just meant being kinder in general...although one box dye in around 8wks is probably about the same as me doing a bleach bath and recolour about once a month to keep my colour bright.
At the minute my hair is an ok brown but maybe a little bit too dark so I was hoping to fade/strip a bit of this out before I put the henna on otherwise I don't think it would even show up. If it fails miserably I still have a tub of diluted adore/directions reddy/brown mix on standby!!

Why were you bleach bathing to refresh the colour? And I'm pretty sure dying with box dyes is as bad, if not worse than doing a bleach bath.
A thing about using henna. Whilst you might think mow that it's a good idea. What about if/when you change your mind and want to go back to other colours? It's way harder to remove.
How are you getting on with the Henna ? Im so tempted to go back to henna again, after many years. Ive even bought some should I suddenly make up my mind and want to do it the same day.
