Hi all!
I recently asked how to go from red to teal. I have finally achieved the colour I wanted (sort of) and a week later I really dont like it anymore. It doesn't suit me and I just want my red back. Is it possible to get back my red? My hair has blue, green and nasty dark green patches in it and I just really do not like it. Plus I recently finished a temp job and I dont think many places will want me with teal hair.
I have bleached my hair far to much so bleaching is a big no no. Is it possible to wash all this out? It seems so stubborn to remove.
Thank you so much!!
Eliza
The colour doesn't look too saturated. I think you'll be able to get a lot out. Start with washing with anti dandruff shampoo and leaving it on for as long as you can stand. Washing up liquid also works well for me. Then you can use colour removers or bleach powder mixed with shampoo (there's a thread on it near the top of the tutorials section) and see what you're left with. I'm guessing you might still have places stained blue a bit so maybe a more purple/pink based red would be better as it would be less likely to go muddy. Definitely avoid an orange based red if you still have some blue. But if you post a picture of how much you manage to fade your hair I'm sure we'll be able to give more specific colour advice π
Oh thank you so much for your reply! I have bought this today http://www.superdrug.com/Superdrug/Superdrug-Colour-Rewind-Hair-Colour-Remover-Clear/p/377250#.VEpk0_nF-8E and theres been lots of good reviews! Just not sure about green/blue hair! Got a strand test happening at the moment so will let you know! Will have a shower with some washing up liquid, dry it and post a photo!
If it goes a light blue, should I then dye it purple, then fade that then go red?!
Thank you very much for your help!! π
So this is the mess I have right now :/ I am so depressed and just want it gone π I've done lots of washing up liquid washes which has helped, and did some colour removing processes using a product from Superdrug (cosmetic store in the UK) but now the water is starting to run clear......could I put a red on now?!
Thank you very much!

Oh geez! π You're hair is a few different colors right now, not to mention your roots are growing out too so it's doing to be really hard.
I would honestly recommend you go to a colorist, you will need to dye different parts of your hair different colors. I had this done recently, as my hair was blonde, and my roots were dark brown - I looked like pikachu lol. They had to dye one big section black, and the other part dark brown.
It will cost you just as much as getting the dyes done by yourself, plus a colorist will do a good job with it, trust me.
To be honest I wouldn't go to a hairdresser to do this, they often make a mess of people's hair and it will cost a ton of money. I would strand test a really strong pink based purple over the colour you have now, maybe SFX deep purple. I think it would cover and come out a range of purple tones that would look good. (I've actually just covered a similar mix of colours with directions rose red and it covered well.)
Then when that fades you could dye it a reddy pink then red after that. I often worm round the colour wheel when I'm changing colour π
It will be slightly long winded but I think you'll have some nice colours on the way to red and your hair won't be damaged π
i think marthakins is right on with her pimpin purple suggestion. i've gone back and forth between teal and pink a few times in the last few years, and pimpin is a great transitional color. where the teal is darkest/greenest you'll get steely blue tones when it fades. quite lovely
