Help me fix my magenta hair

So I wanted to attempt a red to blonde fiery ombre.  I've been dying my hair red/copper for years, always the box kind. I naturally have dirty blonde hair, and I hadn't dyed my hair red in about 2 months so the color was hardly there anymore. I went to Sally's to get some advice on how to proceed. She said I should dye it a vibrant red first, rinse it all out, and use a lightener for the ends after.

What I wanted

Instead of using box dye again, the associate suggested mixing a magenta and deep red color with 30 vol. developer. She also recommended using a "red intensifier." I mixed it 2 parts developer to 1 part dye. The dye was a lovely red color when I put it on, but was much more potent than what I'm used to, so I pretty much jumped in the shower after I finished covering my head, which takes me about 30 min.

Instead of a nice deep red, I look like Uma Thurman Poison Ivy.

So as of last night, now my hair is magenta. The color is actually nice when I look down at it, but when I look in the mirror, I don't like it on me. Is there any way I can fix it to a deeper red? I was thinking of dying it again on Sunday, gives my hair a tiny chance to recover and I don't want to go into work with magenta hair on Monday. I guess a red semi or demi permanent? Should I go with a bright copper color, or a dark wine? I was leaning towards using a box dye, but I'm open for suggestions since I clearly don't know what I'm doing!

The girls who work at Sallys are not trained hairdressers, they frequently give dreadful advice.
Do you still want the ombre in the pics? When you say a deeper red do you mean darker or a more natural colour?
If you can get a colour remover, I think that would be the best place to start.

I've never tried a color remover before, after magenta, how would that look? I was hoping to cover the magenta to get something similar like the roots in the pics I posted and maybe try to get the ombre effect next weekend.

A colour remover will take out the magenta entirely as it is newly applied, and probably leave you with a lighter version of the copper you were using before.
If you want blonde ends you will definitely need to remove the current colour from them, the advice you were given was just plain wrong, you shouldn't have added more colour before going lighter.

Ok, I might find some color remover and try that tonight or tomorrow. Any tips I should know about using it? Should I do that immediately or is it ok to wait a day? My hair longish, and I need 2 boxes of dye to completely cover it, so should I purchase 2 boxes of color remover or will 1 box suffice? Do I leave it the recommended time, or leave it longer?

If I decide to forget the ombre and just wanted a to get a deep red (not fire truck, closer to wine and the root color in the photos) how would I go about that? Trying to weigh my options. Thanks!

If you just want to go darker you can put a darker true semi over the magenta. I would advise against any further permanent dyes, you have already processed your hair a fair amount, especially if it is long.
What country are you in? It helps with knowing what products are available

It would be safer I think to do it the allover deeper wine color first, you could pick up some MP Vampire Red and add just a couple drops of one of their darker greens to it to tone it down and deepen it more. Ypu may want to mix in some Wildfire or Electric Lava too so it's not a super pinky red, and dilute the whole mix with conditioner to help with bleeding and potential staining.  Id only leave it on for an hour or less so it can fade easier, then in a month you can fade what's left on your ends, use a non damaging color remover like One n Only Colorfix from Sallys is great to remove the permanent dye on your ends. One box should be enough for at least a couple applications on your ends. You'll probably be a light gingery shade, then you can bleach bath the ends for your ombre
