I had hair I could sit on as a kid but one day my mum got fed up and went mad with the scissors and I had a boy cut, I loved and hated it at times.
I grew it back by the time I was 18 but it was such a pain to maintain, it tangled and needed straightening so it was just tied up a lot. In the end I cut it to a mohawk and I've completely loved it. I still have it now 5 years later, its much better condition because it gets cut a lot more often so its not bleached over so much and I don't think I've ever noticed a split end.
I very rarely stick up the mohawk so its like a floppy kinda pixie style most of the time. Occasionally I see some chick with long hair and I'm jealous and long for feminine flowing locks... but that quickly passes and I'm thinking of getting some clip in extensions for those times.
I had brain surgery so didn't get much choice about the hair cut! They only shaved where the actual cut was, but when it grew back it stuck up through the rest of my hair like a little Mohawk, and then half my hair fell out from stress and grew back very fuzzy. So, I chopped it all off, from just past my shoulders to a pixie cut. I really like it; it's SO much easier to deal with (my hair is very thick) and last summer was lovely!
I've felt good and not so good about each of my two shoulder-length haircuts respectively, but I really want to try going short (bob or lob style). There is a lot of pressure to stay long but I have an inkling I may be a short-hair person. I'm very small and get a bit drowned in all this long, thick hair.
I still have urges to shave my whole head 😀 I feel like I'd probably love it for a while but then hate it for the next 5 years as I grow it out!!
Then I have opposite days where I want to grow out my undercut and have a full head of thick hair again, but again it would take years. Years of sweat and migraines. Blergh.
I usually let me hair grow down to my waist (trimming it occasionally) then ever 2/3 years or so just get it bobbed. I quite like cycling through the lengths, been doing it for years
I actually thought about going short several times, but I guess I share the same fear as a lot of people: I'm afraid I'll get tired of it in two seconds, I'm afraid I'll feel less "me".
The shortest I've had my hair was shoulder length, a couple of years ago, and the longest was below waist length.. I can honestly say that really long hair is not for me (my hair tangles like crazy, especially around my neck, and I'm quite small in stature) , so I settled for the in-between 😀
Now I have hair cut below my shoulders (ends on my chest, pretty much), and all even.what I do is every now and then I get sick of it and add in layers, or a fringe and then ave fun letting it grow :p oh, and crazy colors help getting rid of boring hair too 😀
I used to have waist length hair and I cut it to above shoulder length. Took a while to get used to it and i did regret it for a few weeks but after that i really started to like it and i've kept it between shoulder and bra length now as its much more manageable. I have tonnes of hair and very thick so used to spend a lot on shampoo and serums.
i had waist length hair for most of my life. Then I went ahead and cut it at an extreme a line going from the nape of my neck in the back to about an inch above my collar bone in the front. I also dyed it from blond to fire engine/Russian red. From there I kept it for about 4 months till the red was more of a copper. Then I shaved one side of it which I LOVED and kept for about half a year before shaving the other side. This one was o.k. except that I didn't have enough hair to play with. Since then i began regrowing it out because I have a fascination with braids, and short hair isn't super easy to create braids with.
Essentially I have decided that there are benefits and costs to both long and short hair.
I got a pixie cut when my hair was relatively long and kept it short for awhile, then grew it back and decided to shave it all off. I currently have a bob as I had to cut a lot of damaged off.
