Hair serums and veggie dye

I've heard conflicting comments about this, some say frizz serums fade colour faster but my last hair dresser said it helps seal in colour. Of course my hairdresser has never worked with veggie based dye so I'm not sure, I worship my John Frieda extra strength serum but will it make my hair dye fade quicker?

I'm not really sure why they'd fade colour faster. The only reason I can think is that most of them are loaded with silicone which needs to be washed out with shampoo, so doing conditioner only washing (which does save colour) isn't practical.

Ok I use a syrum for hi shine ,I have to buy this product from the manufacturer by the box ,It is called Chic shine syrum ,It certainly has never affected any colours I have used ,I do agree though they seem to attract dust etc ,I wash my hair around 3 times a month and try to only use it when going out ,It really lifts the colour in the light,It is very easy to use way to much ,leaving greasy hair ,I used it on long thick naturally curly hair (pre crop days) and even with a mane needed a tiny amount ,I use a tiny ,tiny amount now,not even a whole drop .I do use a colour protecting shampoo ,The Syrum  I use retails out at less then Β£2 and beats the posh ones hands down even frizz ease which makes your hair heavy,I hope this helps a little . πŸ™‚

I use normal strength Frizz Ease and CO-wash and have no problems with fade. I only use it once a week though.

I use Naked hair serum for frizzy hair (you can buy it in Boots) and its never faded any of my colours (it is silicone free though so dunno if that makes a difference). I use it a couple of times a week

I've never had a fading problem. I dont really have a specific one as I tend to buy different ones everytime I buy. My only usual one is the Organix brazilian keratin anti breakage serum which is loaded with silicones but even with that my color doesnt fade any more than usual when I shower.

I used that 99p inecto stuff - it washes out with a co wash and doesn't seem to fade my colour, it doesn't seal it in either though

I vouch for Naked in boots too. I tried it after glitter mentioned it in another post and I'm converted.
