First of all apologies for long post, but some might find this interesting or useful.
So thought i would mention a little hair experiment ive been doing on my partners hair. He has very fine hair, which is some sections is straight and others more like ringlet curls, its also very dry, i know its been box dyed in the past. but all ive used on his hair dye wise is henna.
He had a bald patch on the crown of his head, there was some hair not much at all. Now i know in his previous relationship he was stressed to hell, so hormones and such might be playing in on this. Also he very rarely brushes his hair and for 20 years would never let anyone even give it a trim (thankfully he lets me do such) also a biker, so taking on and off helmet alot also causes pulling and stress on the hair.
I had been trying lots of moisture rich shampoos and conditioners and all the products for about a year, though not much worked. Then when on here i read about silicones etc. So the last few months all ive let him use is the body shop silicone/sulphate free shampoo and conditioner and only coconut oil.
I put coconut oil in his hair most days and when he is going to wash it in the evening, i drench his hair in the stuff for atleast a few hours. I also like playing with his hair, so i would part it into sections making sure all hair had nice coverage of coconut oil, plus i geuss the scalp got massaged too in the process.
It's working!! I geuss good moisture makes the hair more elastic and less prone to breaking, but the bald spot which would have very short hairs, is getting longer and fuller and there is new hair growth in the front section of his hairline (that may have always been there, but so short i never noticed it properly)
No special diet, we do it pretty healthy, lots of variety of meats and veg, so nutrionally didnt add anything extra. No fancy tablets and products. I avoided that mainly because ive worked in natural health care, yes those tablets are correct that such nutrients are beneficial, but most company use poor ingriedients that dont do much at all. If anyone does want to try the supplement route, best company to buy from are Veridian, Solgar and A.Vogal, as they use good quality ingridients and dont bulk out there tablets with bulking agents.
