You know, considering how obsessed I am with hair, its odd that I don't recall ever having dreamt about it. Good or bad.

Until last night! But it was literally me just doing what I'm planning to do at some point today. I have never had such a boring dream before. Not that I remember anyway.

I dreamt once that I had dyed my hair a gorgeous bright red and they dye had made my hair grow really long, down past my waist, but when I went to wash it, the weight of my super long wet hair started to pull at my scalp and it started peeling away from my skull, there was bits of scalp lying on the floor with the beautiful red hair attatched. I woke up in a total sweat with my heart pounding
maybe an omen that I really will never have long hair lol

when i had dreads i would sometimes have nightmares about them. they ranged from cutting, to people destroying them, by adventures destroying them, etc. i would wake up in a panic to confirm they were still there. can't say i have had many nightmares like that since i've parted with my dreads.
i really do want them back, though.

I'm forever dreaming that my hair has faded really badly and it all roots then pinky peach patchy bits and in the dream I'm confused how it could have faded so much without me realising. It's usually that I then have to do something really important and everyone thinks I'm really scruffy and awful.

For some reason I had loads of weird hair dreams last night! But I only remember 2.

The first, I was washing my hair. There was something about hot water and some other things. But when I'd finished and it was magically dry, my fringe was half burnt off! In my head in my dream it was fried from a chemical process, but thinking about it now, it was more like it was burnt off with the slight little balls of crispyness that it gets (I set fire to my granddads beard once so I know how burnt hair feels!). Anyway, at first I was panicked, but then I looked in the mirror and it was a perfect diagonal fringe with some weird layers. Almost makes me want to try it in real life!

The second, it was more like a movie about other people. I've had these dreams before, like I'm observing, but switching through other peoples bodies. Anyway. It was something about colouring a girls hair. Everytime I saw her, she was a different colour and hairstyle. In the end though it took a totally different turn and they were in the toilets of a cinema. My dreams end in toilets when I'm needing to go, it wakes me up now, when I was a kid... I didn't wake up until I'd used the toilet in the dream, oops. But in this dream, the girl with the crazy changing hair was attacked and stabbed in the neck! Oddly, as in the dream I was an observer and not involved, I wasn't worried by this at all. It ended with the killer and her, now a cool zombie, skipping off through the car park with the cinema in the background.

When I had white-blonde hair I often had dreams about dying it all black, and now I've got dark hair the reverse is true! Obviously I like my hair in many configurations so I think it's just a convenient way for my brain to express anxiety about change in general.

Oh man I can totally relate. I had really short hair growing up... like REALLY short (one or two inches). When I wanted to grow it my mom would bribe me away from it with money, haha, sounds cruel, she thought I looked cute in short hair. I let it grow in 9th grade. Im 26 now and it's finally around waist-hip length and to this day I have nightmares of getting it cut or shaved. Recurrently.  Moral: Subconscious is a b*tch πŸ™

I had a nightmare a couple of days ago too.. I was just walking around the city when I caught a glimpse of my hair (which is almost shoulder lenght now since I'm growing it out) and it was super short! Like, pixie short! And it looked as if it was chewed of, really hacked up you know? And when I woke up completely terrified, I had a lot of my hair in my mouth? Haha!

I had a nightmare the other night that I'd been bleaching my hair, and also used the hair bleach to bleach my eyebrows. But then I fell asleep without washing the bleach off my eyebrows and woke up with no eyebrows!!!

I had one last night that I had triple split ends and needed to get a good five inches chopped.

I kept looking at the ends of my hair today to check for splits!
