The ones I'm currently using are from my local extension shop, but usually I use e ones from here http://www.thegreathairsale.com/18-long-american-dream-quick-fix-clip-in-extensions---100-human-hair-27-p.asp

Deffo worth checking this part of love extensions as they reduce their wefts in old packaging woo http://www.lovehairextensions.com/uk/special-offers

I realise I've just made you repeat everything from the original post! *face palm moment*

I will check them both out, thanks πŸ™‚ So sad that those ones from ebay have turned out like that, I was really impressed with them before, what a shame

It's ok!! Also depending on where you live see if your city or a local one has a market with a stall that sells them. I heard the lady I get mine from in town sources hers from Leeds market πŸ™‚

I took the ebay ones out of the plastic packet last night, and although it seemed there were loads of black hairs, there were only about 10 running through the front part, so I just pulled them out. And as I remembered I'll be backcombing these for a photoshoot I figured they'll be damaged anyway so took my chance on dying the extensions.

I did one piece with carnation pink, and it came out perfect, but the other bits that I did in lavender & bubblegum blue were patchy... So I'm thinking maybe it's not mixed with synth hair, but maybe it's super damaged and only looked ok because it was covered in silicone before i washed and dyed them...Cause the darker shade dye took fine, but more pastel colours wouldn't stick

Either way, they don't dye well. A major difference from when I was buying from them in the winter & spring!

They'll serve their purpose for backcombing bits anyway, but yes, I wouldn't buy these again!

Ooh thanks for these links! I'm currently looking for some extensions myself after having my hair cut short for a few years lol! Those videos are so helpful too! πŸ˜€

I was browsing ebay before I saw this & found some called "lush hair extensions" that seemed quite cheap, has anyone used them? They had a colour matching service too that I emailed, but they seem a bit odd because they told me three different colours & I'm sure my hair is none of those lol XD

I have ordered synthetic extensions from doctored locks and they blend really nicely. They have a body wave, and if you take very good care of them they don't get raggedy as most synthetics do. People often think the extensions are my real hair. Cheaper alternative. :3 I do have a few sets of human hair though. I usually get them from ebay, but they do run a little thin so check how many grams you are getting in a pack. Usually you'll need two.

Ahh cool, I'm tempted to get some synthetic ones to mix in with my real ones. You can get really high quality ones now which is fab!

Does anyone know the weight of each weft in the first link? I mailed them but they didn't reply :[

Hiya, can anyone tell me which clips are good? (The link at the top from Meeshybop goes to an eBay sale that had ended) I've made my own double weft extensions but the clips are rubbish and they slip (even if I back comb the roots first) even though they have a gel grippy bit on them. Thanks : )

Ahh poo I shall update it! The silicone backed ones are the best, but they are probably the ones you already have. Have you tried spraying hairspray into the backcombed bits? I use backcomb in a bottle which is good. I've also seen tutorials where people twist the bit of hair that the extension is going to clip to, maybe try that?
Ooh and can I ask, did you use micro loop extensions? What were they like? I'm tempted but don't know if they're worth it.

I use ones like these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-x-HAIR-PIECE-CLIP-EXTENSIONS-SNAP-CLIPS-LARGE-BLONDE-/250799863805?pt=UK_Women_s_Wigs&hash=item3a64d637fd

I havn't bought them from this seller but I find this larger size is alot better for doublewefts.

I think the clips I have are just rubbish ones - I've had silicone backed ones in the past that worked fine. If you see any clips and could post a link that would be awesome - I know you're the hair extension guru on here! : )

The micro loops looked amazing - but when I took them out after 6 weeks to give my hair a rest they had pulled loads of my own hair out : S I think it was because I over processed my hair in Jan, and although it felt fine when I put them in it was probably still weak. A friend of mine had micro loop wefts (instead of individual strands) and she said they didn't damage her hair at all. I think I'm going to stick with clip ins until I've grown all the damaged bits out - then I may try the wefts next year maybe - I did love having them in, even though it felt like sleeping on a pillow full of Lego! It was worth it to have long thick hair - I miss it!

I bought the American Dream ones in the blondest shade, and they're really nice, really pale, but they don't seem to be taking the dye πŸ™ I diluted carnation pink and put it on them, but it barely took, so just now I applied neat Carnation Pink which is usually pretty neon when its first applied, and it doesn't look like its working... Instead of looking bright whilst the dye is on, it looks like a dusty pink πŸ™ Don't know what's gone wrong!

Has anyone tried the micro loop extensions? I am thinking of getting some fitted in the future. πŸ™‚
