Where can I buy reputable human hair extensions?

So a few people have been asking where to get extensions from, so I thought I'd create this so we can add websites we've seen and tried to create a bit of a one stop directory Smiley

Extensions

(great value, you have to replace them a bit more often though)

How do I dye my new extensions to match my vibrant hair?

How do I maintain my extentions?

So after a month or two of not looking after my hair extensions very well at all, they were looking pretty thin.
In fact this is how thin they were looking (this is all my hair pushed forward, none at the back)

So, what I did was ordered a new set, dyed them up and took off the clips from both sets. I had ordered some new bigger clips to hold the weight of the hair, as the small generic ones can pull a lot more on your natural hair.
When all the clips were off, I pinned the two wefts together and zig zag stitched them on a machine. You could do this by hand if you want, just takes a little longer. If you do do it on the machine, let the wefts sit where they like. You'll end up with them sort of sat next to each other, rather than piled up. This is better as it means they won't stick out so much.
When that's done, all you need to do is hand stitch the new clips on, starting with one on the left, then one on the right, then one in the middle. Add more if you need them. If you start at the left and work your way across, chances are that they won't be even.

Sooo now you have double the amount of hair to play with!! Yaaaay looks loads better πŸ™‚

Now my hair is like this:

Hair at the front....

And hair at the back!!

And pushed forward:

Ignore the fact I need to touch up the dye on the ends of my natural hair haha

Hope that helps someone just proves you don't need to pay they stupid prices for double weft pieces! I've seen them go for Β£50 a weft, and that's just standard hair! MADNESS!

Thought I would add this as I'm searching just now

The American Dream old stock go for a very cheap price on ebay. They are thin though - be warned! meeshybop's idea to sewing them together might help.

I've just bought 4 pkts from this seller crompton30 on ebay
It took about 4 pkts for a full head for the last time I purchased American dream old stock. At Β£3.99 per pack for human hair it wasnt bad.

I will add though, I used to buy these years ago in Sallys. I once bought a set of 613 and dyed with Crazy Colour purple - and there were strands that remained white blonde. I am assuming it wasn't 100% human hair as they claimed.... just a warning for dyers!

Cheers

The ebay ones are the ones I use, they're really good, you get a lot of hair for the price. I double weft mine to make them thicker, these ones you need to sew your own clips on. I've bought from this seller about three times, and all the extensions have lasted for ages. I use shade number 60 πŸ™‚

EDIT:

If you scroll down on this page, there's a pic of me wearing the extensions I got from that ebay link, they look very natural

Thankyou :]
They look great and I'm in need of long hair again.
Is 613 or 60 the light blonde?
Hopefully they dye up well πŸ˜€

I bought them and was really disappointed πŸ™ they were half synthetic and so didn't dye up well. They are really thick though, but after I dyed them I had white strands all over and they didn't curl well at all, making me think again they were half synthetic.

Eeek! Let me know how your new ones are.
Are the ones in the top link thick enough for a full head if I buy 4 packs?
I'm guessing each pack is one strip ?
Thanks

Luckily I've not even removed them from the plastic, there's SO many dark undyed hairs that I didn't need to get them out to see. What a shame as they were great when I was buying from them for my wedding, they must have changed for the worst πŸ™ In fact, I bought a pack just after the wedding for my red hair, and that had a fair few black hairs too. Pooh.

Will send them back and get my Β£30 refunded asap! Now I don't know what extensions to buy, need some fast for a photoshoot :/

Which ones do you use meeshy?
