Hair condition help

Hello

I am hoping to get some help to improve the condition of my hair.

My hair is wavy, very frizzy and thin.  It has been frizzy and awkward for as long as I can remember, and my mum's hair is similar.  It is currently about bra length, and I haven't dyed it with anything other than crazy colour for some time (there are some bleached strands starting about shoulder length, so that is how much it has grown out).

I have tried so many different products, eating different things, the curly girl routine, but nothing seems to really help my hair.  I've tried tyeing it up and trying to ignore it but even the hairline is frizzy. I try plaits but they are so thin at the ends.  It is dull and straggly, tangled and so much seems to come out in the shower I'm surprised any is left!  I know it shouldn't bother me so much but it does.  It's right there whenever I look in the mirror.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, even just finding someone else with the same hair type!

Vicky

If you are losing more than 150 strands a day (that is a normal amount) you are either going through a shedding phase or you have a medical issue. Most commonly anemia can affect your hair, but it could also be hormonal, so a visit to the doctors for a blood test is a good place to start.

Some people do have naturally frizzy hair, but the right routine will minimize it.
How do you look after your hair?
I only managed to get rid of my frizz when I gave up heat styling, shampoo and silicones entirely. I CO wash, air dry and use natural oils as a leave in to smooth my curls into waves. Coconut and argan oil are my favourites.
My avatar pic shows my hair after a shampoo, no conditioner or oils, and as you can see it is barely frizzy anymore, even without products. If I had conditioned and added oils it would look smooth. (I was about to re-dye, but washing with a clarifying shampoo and nothing else shows the true condition of your hair)
Even something as simple as not brushing and using your fingers to untangle can help

I am feeling a bit run down, so I guess it could be medical.

I tried co washing but can't see any difference.  However I don't use brushes or towels any more.  I sleep on a silk pillow and I only comb my hair sometimes to de tangle when I have washed it.

I don't like to use heat, but I straighten it sometimes because it looks so much nicer than my natural hair.

It could be you need the weight of something like a conditioner left in. I use a pea sized blob of conditioner after I've rinsed and this gives me weight and control that silicone used to give.

If you don't comb or brush your hair  often, then you're going to lose a LOT more hair in the shower. It'll be tangled up and stay in your hair until you wash it.  I doubt that you have any issues.

Also, it can take several weeks, or even months, for the benefits of co washing to show.

I tried co washing for about three years!

I think my hair is falling out because of stress  :'(
