Got hair cut/dyed..hair is now unnatural gold

I just got my hair cut and dyed at a popular hair salon. I normally like haircuts I get there but something went wrong with the dye job. I haven't dyed it since high school.
I asked for a dark ombre copper/brown color. She bleached it, and told me I probably wouldn't need toner. Well she looked at it in the foil and said oh, yeah you need toner. Then took them out and goes "it's blonde" and laughed a bit. I was oh God, but thought the toner would help. It did darken it slightly, but it seems real uneven and in most lighting it looks golden toned. I'm not too happy with it and I feel like it looks too unnatural.
I'm not sure if it's possible to achieve this look at this point. However is it possible to at least get ita darker brown?
