Hi, I've never dyed my hair myself before, and the one time I got it dyed professionally I went lighter, to a platinum blonde. That's all been cut off and it's grown out natural again. Now I want to dye it brown, and I've read that if you're a blonde you need to put red in it first so it doesn't come out gray or green. I was wondering if this is true even for dark blondes?
My natural color is dark blonde a la Cara Delevingne, and I'm going for a medium brown like Anne Hathaway's. Thoughts?

It will be fine as you are only going down a few levels, and the brown you want is quite warm. Use a demi permanent with a low vol developer, as you don't need as much lift when going darker
