I'm in the process of going cone free (mainly because I have super fine hair and I'm concerned this could be being made worse by SLS) I've started CO washing with cone free conditioner, but I've just realised my hairspray has non soluble cones in it.
Does anyone know of any cone free hairspray and / or cone free volumising styling products? (I tend to use a volumising spray or mousse)
I have garnier fructis style, crystal resist hairspray and these are the ingredients listed:
dimethyl ether, alcohol denat, aqua/water, va/crotonates/vinyl neodecanote, copolymer, aminomethyl propanol, smithsonite/smithsonite extract, limonene, bambusa vulgaris extract, linalool, caprylic/capric triglyceride, hexyl cinnamal, amyl cinnamal, parfum/fragrance.
As far as I know none of those are cones, someone else can maybe confirm this though π
I use Elnett. It does have one cone, but it's water soluble.
Pantene Defined Curls mousse is cone free, their other mousses may be worth a look if you're not curly but tbh, I suspect it makes little or no difference whether your hair is curly or straight! I find it has a fairly firm hold.
I can't help with hairspray but wanted to add, most hairsprays and mousses contain alcohol denat., which is very drying on the hair and may be something to take into a count of your hair is particularly fine as you may struggle to hold onto moisture already.
My hair isn't dry (even with bleaching) especially not now I'm CO washing, it's just super fine and really soft so unless I have product in it it's impossible to do anything with. That's great news though - thanks, ill go and get some cone free hairspray : )
The other product I use a lot is hair powder, but the big sexy hair one I use doesn't seem to have any cones in it? Euterpe Oleracea Pulp Oil, Oriza Sativa Rice Bran Oil, Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil and Silica Silyate.
