Do you ever miss your virgin hair?

My virgin hair wasn't too bad. It was a light brown, kinda mousey/plain in some lights but it did have golden tones in it, not ashy.

But, I needed a change in my life because I was unhappy at school, and I saw/was inspired by all the blondes I saw there. Plus, I was a blonde kid and I am pale and fry to red in the sun, and I have green-blue eyes. So, I figured blonde would suit me well. It does suit me well. But looking at pictures makes me miss my virgin hair and wonder if I was too hasty to change it, because I wasn't going gray yet.

Pros: Being blonde is super fun-there's nothing like that shiny halo of pale blonde, I definitely get more male attention, and it makes me feel sunny and pretty. Plus my natural hair was so DAMN oily, I had to wash it every day and it still looked oily.

Cons: My hair is so fragile now, the ends are always a bit thin looking, and I couldn't even get them 100% perfect color without frying, I have some breakage, my hair is dry, I am allowed to iron it (according to hairstylist a few times a month or up to once a week should be ok) but I'm scared to, and sometimes being blonde makes me feel "fake". My natural hair looked so shiny and healthy..which I didn't even realize until I processed it and see the difference.

I do love being blonde, so I wouldn't dye it back to brown because it's not like I can get the virgin shine and texture back anyway. But sometimes I wonder if I jumped on the wagon too fast-maybe I should have just stuck with my first set of subtle highlights, or gone for an ombre.

Does this happen to anyone else? Or do you prefer dyeing?

No, I don't miss virgin hair. But I do miss another colour as soon as I put a new one on. At the moment I'm missing orange and yellow.

Nope, not at all. It's boring and mousy. But i too get the desire to change colour almost as soon as the dye gets washed off...

I do not miss my natural colour, I never really liked it. I have tried a lot of different colours over the years but I have found my favorite hair colour now (brown with blue and purple) and if I try to change it to something else I miss the blue and purple, it feels like it is 'my' colour and I feel more like myself with it than I do with my natural colour 🙂

Sometimes. To be honest though, I'm a natural blonde so it's FAR too easy for me to colour. I only have to use the tiniest amount of bleach or dye and it stains my hair. So yeah, in some respects I do miss my virgin colour, but not enough to warrant growing it out ;]

I think, to be honest, it's not going to be the case for the majority of us here. We're mostly all into alt colours more than natural. Not everyone, obviously, but most of us got here from Beeunique.co.uk or from looking for tips on bleaching ready to be dying with bright colours.

I definitely don't miss my natural colour. Mine is naturally dirty blonde, I always hated it. It made me feel boring, dull, I didn't feel like myself with it so it didn't give me any confidence.

I sometimes miss mine, it was wavy and auburn (really reddy in some lights) but I mainly want virgin hair just so it would bleach easily to a neutral blonde and I could put pastel colours over it 😛

I don't miss it.  Even going darker shades of red makes me feel dull; I just feel more "me" with bright hair.

I actually have nightmares that I have to dye my hair back to brown, and wake up relieved to see it bright red still!

I do miss being able to do it whatever colour I want, and I long to go back to pink ... someday, when I'm in senior management at work, I'll do whatever I want with my hair and people won't be able to say boo about it.

Ive recently gone back to my almost natural colour,  Im currently a dark chocolate brown with blonde and caramel underneath..  Im almost my own colour for the first time in many many years..  I kind of like it at the moment,  People seem to be more shocked at my current colour  ;D  because its so unusual for me.  It was actually hard to get these colours right and more time consuming than any alt colours Ive done  😮  Im thinking it wont last though!

I do miss my natural colour. It was a pretty nice deep mahogany brown, but I have always dyed it since I was about 13. I have had every colour out there (with the exception of yellow/orange/lime greens, I look terrible in anything yellowy) but I haven't had my natural colour since I was a child. I started going grey at 17, just a few hairs back then, but now the grey has taken over, and my natural colour has gone forever 🙁

Almost every time I have to do my roots or see my older pictures.
My natural hair was pretty multi-tonal brown with a deep ginger tint to it, specially under the sun and its texture was even silkier than my processed hair - and it makes me miss it everytime I pet the back of my head and feel a long chunk of natural hair.

I wouldnt be able to go back to it however, I enjoy dyed hair far more and its getting too long to suddenly grow natural.

I do miss mine occasionally, my natural colour is a very dark brown. However the few times I've gone back to brown I've missed my bright hair colours pretty much instantly! I think I just miss any colour that I've not had for a while

Not at all! Well, not my current natural color which is a flat looking brown-black. The natural color I had until my late teens I kind of miss, it was glossy deep brown and had gold and red highlights.
