I like layers, but I was told that my hair will look too thin with layers. I have a few angles, but my hair cut feels boring. I have a lot of hair and it's very long. I wear it wavy or straight, often more straight but not pin straight. My hair is fine though, so it is on the thinner side.
Will layers make it look even thinner? I've had the same cut for a long time, but I don't want to lose a lot of length.
have you got a picture? I have fine hair but I have a lot of it so can't really say anything without seeing it, my layers make my hair look massive!
Why would a hairdresser lie to you? Layered hair can make some hair lay very flat. With my hair, it makes it stupidly huge. It's all about YOUR hair.
I have fine, pin straight hair and tons of it, so I used to do layers to thin out my hair because it's distributed very thickly across my scalp (it's never actually looked like fine hair because there's just so much of it). Now I'm growing it out and I'm realising just how much hair is actually on my head ...
I think if your hair is straight, layers tend to thin it out, but if it's wavy or curly, layers tend to add volume. So if you have fine, straight hair that already looks thin, layers might not be the way to go.
