Katie, can you tell me how you girls do bleach bathing on your roots and get full coverage? How do you do it without touching the already processed hair?
I use on myself about 1 part bleach powder, just over 1 part 30 vol, and I use just less than that whole amount of shampoo. So, say 1 oz powder, 1 1/4oz peroxide, and 1 3/4oz shampoo, roughly, I eyeball it. But I just apply it with a tint brush as if it were a straight bleach. I usually try to hold the brush so its perpendicular to my scalp, then dab the brush right in the middle of the above section and the bottom, just leaning the brush slightly to either side. I usually apply the bottom bristles of the tint brush right in the middle, or right where the hair meets the scalp, so the ends of the brush aren't actually on the whole length of the roots. When you apply it closer to the scalp like that, the bleach that is already on the brush ends up on the length of the roots anyways, oe the dabbing action kind of "smooshes" the bleach out a little bit. If I actually try to use the end of the brush to apply it exactly onto the spot I want it, it ends up going further than I want it to and overlapping. I hope that all makes sense, it's really hard to put into words.
I basically act like I'm applying it only to where the hair meets the scalp, so it's like I'm "under directing" it, if that makes sense. Do you get what I'm saying?
I just did my roots late afternoon yesterday and I'm waiting for my hair to dry to put the color on! I made it a bit cooler this time so hopefully I don't get any of that reddish tne to it, and i diluted it a lot more. The color looks awesome in the bowl though! I'm excited!
Decolour barely made a dent to my turquoise, I'm beyond angry right now. The water actually ran clear!! I don't even know if there's even any point in me wasting the second bottle. Looks like I will be whipping the bleach out after all. Il probably use the other bottle anyway, I won't be buying it again though.
I think Decolour only works on a few colours, Turquoise and Atomic Pink are famously evil to get out π
It did lift my orange from faded orange to yellow, so bleach bath ahoy...
Eh, glad you had some progress at least! I'm sitting with the second bottle on now but I'm using a hair dryer for heat as well for 10 mins.
The best dent Ive made in turquoise was Pro Voke colour remover, I still ended up bleach bathing, and still had greeny ends.. which as per my post earlier, were completely covered by the rose red, but came back today with a bleach bath. the red mix has totally covered it though.
My pillar box/vermillion mix, has come out looking exactly like straight vermillion, its extremely orangey .. I do like it though.. and the diluted vermillion came out a really nice orange , Im tempted now to put some chocolate brown in, like a terrys chocolate orange.
@Lauraaa when I use color removers (I use Colorfix though), I apply heat for the first 10 mins or so too and if it seems to cool off at all, I warm it up for a couple minutes again and it seems to help! That was with permanent though...I hope it takes a good amount out for you!
I'm excited to see what my hair looks like. It looks ace right now, I used mostly Virgin Rose, less Atomic pink this time, conditioner, and a teeny bit of a few other colors just to use them up, not really to change the color by much (since I know AP and VR will just overpower them anyway), but I did try to make it a bit cooler this time and it looks good so far! Like a neon orchid purpley pink π
I just used decolour to try to strip a horribly dark blue out of my hair (I used sfx blue mayhem but it just came out almost black :(.) But it didn't take any of the colour out. Really disappointed.
*cry* Β£26 down the drain. Second one barely made a difference either, it's a smidge lighter I think, but that's it. Now, to give my trusty Jobaz another shot. I am NEVER going turquoise again. It's not even a coverable colour it's a really bright green as well *sigh*
Jobaz took quite a lot of colour out. Especially from the roots, and some bits are really pale. The colour is still really vibrant though and still turquoise/green. I might try bleach next (not today though my head needs a serious rest!)
Well, it looks identical to the first time I dyed it somehow, despite the purple I added to it and the mix looking more purple in the bowl and on my head. I mean, I have dark, neon pink hair i should be toally happy lol. I just want it to look more purpley/orchid-y than it is...
I'm doing some slightly more drastic strand testing tomorrow. I will get this color eventually! Maybe I need more purple? Or maybe I should try diluting some blue? I don't know.I want it to look like what cool toned pinks look like over faded blues/turquoise/violet
Agh, these slight tonal changes kill me sometimes!
I really feel for you Lauraaa, I spent a fortune on colour removers but turquoise is sticking like hell to my hair. I'm currently doing another bleach bath in the hope it'll be light enough to cover with purple next week.
Damn! I was going to grab some colour b4 today, but I'm skint so I'm off to grab some more bicarb and vit C tablets, I haven't tried them together on turquoise yet. I also stocked up on some decent conditioner today to give my hair a boost. Hope your bleach bath goes well!
Is your colour something similar to mine kahrisa? Lol

Goodness, you have been battling with that turquoise for quite some time now! I hope the bleach bath helps enough to get it how you want it <3
It's now the colour of spring grass lol. I'm just going to bite the bullet and use the purple when it gets here and see what happens. My roots are a real grotty yellow colour, can't wait to cover them!
The only thing that get Turquoise out is time. (I know you need it out pronto, so it is not what you want to hear!) I had Turquoise in August, reapplied in September, and managed to fade it out by mid November. I mostly used dandruff shampoo, and a couple of dandruff shampoo/bicarb mixes, one with vitamin C too. I was a pastel green that I covered with purple, which has now faded to lilac/lavender/silver and no sign of turquoise re-appearing. So it is possible, but not easy to get out quickly.
The turquoise seems to be coming out because it's more green now. This is with and without flash, I've ordered adores purple rage, violet gem and a rich fuschia for good measure!
Also wanted to say that Katie's mixture initially took a lot of colour out so definitely give that a go too π
