Right now strand testing some colours, hoping they'll cover my faded out turquoise!
Thanks, Shannon Thurgar and Janineb - I am so glad to hear that! I have a faint blueish stain that looks like a bruise that I need to go away. I think it's from Atomic Turquoise and Blue Mayhem; hopefully it will work on those.
Good luck, Glitterpix!

I'd definitely try it, I didn't think the second one had done anything whilst my hair was still wet but once I dried it all the patchy blue that was by my roots was minty once dry. Everybody has commented on the colour saying how nice it is now 😂
Bleach bath is on after an overnight coconut oil soak. I was looking at fading techniques & hoping for the best, but then checked & realised it's 11 weeks since I last put bleach of any sort near my hair - so figured I'd just go for it. Worst that happens is the ends fry but tbh it's 6 months since they were trimmed anyway so the last inch or so needs chopping anyway. If this kills them it might encourage me to actually get it done!
Heading for adore velvet black with directions cerise flashes through it. May need to tone after the bleach before I do that (I'll find out when the bleach comes off) - it was faded Atlantic Blue that I'd slapped velvet black onto & just went sludgy dark blue (not a great colour tbh - I don't recommend it!). We'll see how bad the blue has penetrated the hair before deciding. I've got plenty of colours in my alchemists box of tricks so can easily tone if I need to.
Update: It sort of worked. I had lovely blonde roots and it definitely stripped out the black I'd put in there. Sadly the stain from Directions Plum then Atlantic meant the lower 2/3rds faded to a sea green. I looked a bit like a sea monster! ;D Toner on now...
Final update: It all seems to have worked! I toned with a mix of Pillarbox red & Adore Copper brown to make an orange based red toner. Left that for 30 mins, then rinsed & washed with clarifying shampoo. Then put on Directions Cerise in foils and then Adore Velvet Black. It all seems to have worked & no hint of Blue! Yay! Pics will follow when it's dry.
How did it go Soniajm?
I'm enlisting my boyfriend to help do my roots later. I'm a little worried but it can't be worse than when I do them myself lol.
Hair stripped a lot as I was rinsing the bleach out. Now as usual I'm indecisive about what colour to go next :/
Just rinsed after 5 hours just for a root touch-up after one week ... oh the joy of dying unbleached hair :/ but I'm having an important job thing this week and as much as I can stand to be "the weird one with green hair", being labelled "the weird one with green hair and white roots" would be too much π

So sorry - I missed this. I had limited success. Worked fine until I washed it the first time then came out. After trying various things first, I took the rather drastic step of going for a permanent black on most of it with Directions Cerise as flashes throughout. It's worked fairly well tbh. Currently sitting with the cerise touched up in foils again. It looks very conventional though, but it's part of the master plan!
The reason for committing to a box / permanent dye is that in 2 weeks I'm having a full head of waist length extensions braided in, in black & cerise, so I actually wanted something that wouldn't fade while they are in. I'll worry about what I do next when they come out in a couple of months!
Ooh and exciting discovery. Given that I'm sat having done a clarifying shampoo on my hair, but only some bits are being coloured, the rest has air-dried so I've got a true test of condition. It feels soft, strong and utterly lovely. It's not even particularly dry! I'm slightly stunned given the abuse I've given it!!
