I've just done my roots and I'm having a bit of lunch before doing my red ... feeling a bit lazy now because we've been up since five, did the shopping and then I went to get my hair trimmed before doing my roots. Think I'll take a twenty minute break before doing the red (and consequently cleaning the bathroom).
I accidentally grabbed Max Blonde for my roots instead of Absolute Platinum ... I am now of the opinion that Max Blonde is 40 volume, and Absolute Platinum is 30 volume. Max Blonde made my scalp itch and burn the same way 40 vol did, and my roots lifted to pale yellow in twenty minutes flat. Absolute Platinum, on the other hand, does not burn my scalp and my roots take about 35 minutes to lift to pale yellow. Same amount of bleach powder in each of the two shades, so the only difference can be peroxide strength. I know it's cheaper and safer to buy your own bleach powder and peroxide, but I don't have anywhere to store it at the minute, so I just grab a box of Absolute Platinum every two months when it's root time. When I have a house with more storage space, I'll drop in to Sallys for tubs of bleach powder and bottles of 30 volume.
I did have a lovely conversation with my hairdresser, though, and recommended BeeUnique and some Special Effects colours for a friend of hers who wants to go red, but has bleached her hair to hell and back while being blonde. Need to buy some BU business cards to hand out with my next order!
Sorry for the stream of consciousness rambling.
I did a BB on my hair and it left a very pale blueish colour, white and the roots were light yellow. I slapped on directions carnation pink in hopes of a mix of pinks and purples. When it touched the blueish colour, it went purple, so I'm hopeful. π

Ooh this sounds lovely.. I can't wait to see π
It worked and it's lovely. π The carnation pink is way more neon than I thought, I thought it was more of a baby pink. But it's alright, I really like the result, looks like I did it on purpose. Will post some pics later.
I did my roots yesterday and now I'm sat with a weird pink/ purple/pinkple combination on different parts of my hair π
Pravana Wild Orchid with a spot of Violet on random ends. I got my hair trimmed today and don't like it so I'm cheering myself up with pinky goodness.
Oh my, Wild Orchid is really feeble. π

I'm sorry you don'tlike your hair π I hope the colour makes you like it more.
I purposefully got cut a bit shorter because the sides were curling up about two weeks after I got it cut inially, so I know I will grow into liking it more soon π
But this pink is insipid beyond belief! Don't know whether to wait for Virgin Rose or pop some Cerise or Pink Rose on top.
Just gone from Bleach rose pink to Directions Pillar Box Red (which came out hot pink as there were no warm tones in my hair) to Adore Paprika in the last month.
Adore paprika is looking a lot redder than its swatch indicates.
Virgin rose with a bit of wildflower & loads of conditioner.
It's looking rather purple, I can't wait to see it in daylight π
The plans this morning turned out into - I think! - a happy accident.
I started out attempting to fill in 7- to 8-week root regrowth with balayage-type highlights, and I was too careful not to overlap, so I got some dots of bleach at the root followed by a dark patch. It wasn't all over but it was too noticeable to live with, so I freaked out and didn't know how to correct it. I thought the best option would be to go back in with bleach, dragging the highlights down a bit further down the length. I think I bleached most of the roots in the top in the end. Anyway...
For toner, I pulled out the Nirvel ArtX Nutre-Color in grey and applied a diluted mixture to the top. I was so sick of doing hair by that time, I didn't mix the toner too well, and it ended up quite a lot darker (less diluted) than I've been using. So I lived with it for the afternoon, and after it dried, I noticed the top was quite different from the bottom lengths. But I quite liked the deeper tone.
Early this evening, I was able to take another process. So instead of fading out the "too dark" dye, I applied the same deeper mixture to the lengths. And so now I would say I'm a dark and VERY ash blonde. I know I can always fade it if I want to, but it is certainly different and looks interesting to me, a good change! I'll see what others' reactions are tomorrow at work and hope it doesn't look too purple or green in the sun, but I'm digging it today... a very soft and nearly uniform colour.
And best part about it is I used minimal bleach and, though it didn't turn out as planned and no balayage effect at all, I rather like it. I'd of course love to share pictures when I take a good one.
I did another bleach powder + shampoo + olive/coconut oil treatment about a week ago for about 5-10 minutes and it got out the rest of the Nirvel Grey remnants but not all, there was still a very pale, like a level 10 beigey cast to my pale yellow and the last of the AP staining. So I used like 3 pea sizes of Virgin Rose and just a speck of Pravana Violet in like 4oz of conditioner allover to get a pastel pink. It's faded quite a bit since, I've been outside a lot having the kids in their little pools + I'm really loving how it's looking. My roots are coming in too + the pastel pink is fading more on the roots just below my natural, it looks really cool! It's been so ridiculously humid out though, I've just had my hair up most of the time with coconut oil in it so I haven't gotten a good photo of it yet

I would love to see this, Alexia!
Bleached my roots, now for my dye tip up ready for my sisters wedding
Planning to start fading the turquoise/green areas on my head to come closer to mostly pink hair with blue parts, not very into my hair right now
