I have cc cyclamen in my hair but it looks a lot pinker than the sample! Haha oh well I'm sure I'll like it π
What colour was your base Deloria87, brown?
The dark red mix on my daughter turned out perfectly. Totally covered her roots and is the exact colour of red wine, I love it, although it is weird to see her so dark. Dark pinky/purple red is a colour I used to have often when I was younger, so she looks like a young me. Which is a bit odd lol
It was red(ish) with a few browner parts where a red had faded. It's not TOO bad but it was just meant to be a maintenance colour. It's come out a bit like black cherry yoghurt with pinkier ends but it blends well π
currently sat with a bleach bath on my hair ready for violet gem
Well it's beaten me, after two years of telling myself I hav strong thick hair that can take the pain, I've finally ruined it. Did my 4th weekly bleach bath Friday and the side that previously used to be permanent black on my purple and black cruella has now fried. It bugs me cause I thought I was being careful only using 20 vol bleach baths, waiting the right time, using k pak, and coconut before bleaches but I guess my poor little ends couldn't hack it, going to get a trim when I have the time, however it concerns me cause the breakage isn't restricted just to my ends but halfway through the lengths, I'm just gunna put it down to me being paranoid and hope it's just natural length falling out, but I am rather scared at the moment wah
Re did my purple last night and woo-ee it is sooo bright and amazing!
I've got blue under my fringe, with the rest of my hair lavender, I hope they go well together π
I've just re-done the rose red on mine. What I should have done is bleach the roots again, but frankly I was lazy and couldn't be bothered. *gun*
Anyway - I left it on loads longer than last time, and it's a great colour BUT I'm now thinking that now I've got it to the colour I was aiming for, I think what I want has changed! Ah well. I will get a pic in the sunshine tomorrow and put it on here, and then probably start asking for advice on how to get it the *new* colour I think I want! ::)
Currently sat here with Pravana silver all over my head. Lets hope its fixed my ginger rah
Got pravana violet on!
Found some bottles of Stargazer Tropical Green, which I slapped on. It's over Directions Turquoise with a blonde bit as finge, from about a month ago. I'm wondering if the blonde bit will turn the true colour and the rest of my hair a blueish version of it, can't wait to see!
Re-doing Peacock Blue after doing my roots yesterday, and I added a blob of Enchanted Forest for a bit of greenyness. I'm back to work tomorrow so decided to get my hair looking better and return in style π
Hair maintenance day! The most thorough one so far...
I bleached my roots this morning. Then I followed that with a colour remover to try to get as much of the residual toner out as possible (I think the toner has been building up and keeps grabbing at the lengths and in a few streaks on the top). Then I clarified.
Then I broke a golden rule... :'( I tapped in some more bleach on a few spots at the roots that I clearly missed first time around.
Just rinsed that away, and now I'm waiting for my hair to dry a little so I can tone. The colour remover didn't wash away all the toning build-up, so I think drier hair will be easier to work with to figure out where to reapply toner.
Topping up my purple on some bits that looked a bit faded π
Used B4 this morning and was a bit surprised to end up with greenish hair! I think it might be from using a honey brown mix previously which has a greenish base or maybe the copper brown over that which is almost a purple-red, I'm thinking maybe the combo of blue (in the purple) and my yellow/orangey hair underneath...
Well whatever the reason I currently have on my head:
1 bottle Adore French Cognac
1/2 bottle Adore Cajun Spice
and 1/2 bottle Adore Cinnamon.
(Yes my hair soaks up 2 bottles!). So we shall see what happens. If it is too bright or still green I will try covering it with cinnamon which by itself looks like a warm (more red than orange) brown.
UPDATE - after an hour some of my hair was looking a bright radioactive orange so I plunked some straight cinnamon over the top and put the cap back on...
UPDATE #2 - well that was a bust! The colour didn't take very well, way too light and I'm not sure why! Could be the colours I'm using don't have as much pigment as others. (My hair ranges from very light to a light reddish brown underneath.) So anyhow I rinsed it well and used clarifying shampoo and let it air dry. Now I have a similar blend on my head but this time it's a full bottle of cinnamon, 1/2 bottle Cajun Spice, and 1/4 bottle French Cognac. I miss my Adore paprika! It's been out of stock for a while now, I think that is my favourite Adore dye of them all so far.
I've spent half the day with plastic bags on my head!!!
UPDATE #3 - I slept with the mixture in update 2 on my head. The colour definitely held this time, though it's just a slightly warm shade of brown, a bit boring - even for me. I should've been more patient with my first mixture and left it on longer! At least it looks pretty even and healthy now though. What it really needs is a dash of paprika to liven it up!
