Conditioning

So, as I've mentioned in many comments on here (and won't shut up about in real life!) I am trying to grow my hair a bit after a pretty disasterous cut. (which has made me decide to take the plunge and aim for slightly below shoulder length eventually) My biggest challenge at the mo is conditioning, everybody is raving about coconut oil but I'm allergic to coconut and I feel left out!

Any tips on keeping my hair in optimum condition for growing - without any coconut based products, and on a budget.

I have already cut out heat styling and blow drying except for special occasions and I'm only bleach bathing the roots very lightly about every 2-3 months at most and using Adore colours (heat processing the dye is my big exception to my no blow dryer action rule!).

Argan oil has the same properties as coconut oil, so will be fully absorbed into the hair. It is more expensive, but a little goes a long way. A bottle lasts me at least 6 months (more like a year, but i dont use it exclusively) and I have a lot of hair.
I got my last lot from Holland & Barrett when they had a BOGOF sale, I think it was £14 for both bottles.

Thank you Wicked Pixie! I'll have a look when I go into town today. If a bottle lasts you 6 months with all your hair it'll prob last me the rest of my life with my wimpy locks!

Castor oil is a great option for who wants to grow their hair a bit, you massage it into your scalp and spread it on your length and ends to avoid split ends, haven't seen any since my last hair cut thanks to it :)) it nourishes hair and helps with growth

Castor oil? I'll look out for some! I've been using the Argan and I keep getting told me hair looks soft and silky!
