Ok. So about a month ago I asked you all's help for getting all the red out of my hair. Turns out I got SUPER bored of it SUPER quick. Sooooo now I'm wondering. I wanna do a fire ombre MY WAY. The issue I had in the past is that the red I put in was TOO intense. I looked like a stop sign mixed with safety orange. lol
How could I get my current hair (blonde below) to the red in the picture. I have no problem with the lightening of the ends or what orange I will use (will probably use Paul Mitchell's 8RO)-- I just don't know what formula I need to achieve that red.
Would using half of an 8RO with a 4RO work just as well?
Opinions?
For today I'm going to go ahead and even out the blonde I have in plus do my roots. Next step would be the color. π
I don't know those colours, but if they're permanent, they aren't the best option. Direct dye reds are much better. Won't damage, you can top up when ever you want with no damage and actually last longer than permanent when it comes to red and orange.
Your ends are plenty light enough for the pale orange on the ends.
I would use adore dyes I think. They have more natural looking reds and oranges, which seems to be what you want. I would use a deep red on the roots and only the roots. Then orange on the mid lengths. Then the ends I'd leave alone. Red and orange will run a lot when you're washing it out and that will be enough to dye the ends that pale orange. That's why I suggest keeping the red on just the roots as it will rinse through the rest of the hair as its washed out.
Truth is that I don't know what I want to do.
I've been searching and searching for days and I just want to do EVERY style I see lol.
How bout Rose gold-- on my current base, do you think it's just a matter of throwing in some peach? Or should I lighten to silver and then rose it up?
I'm the same way! I feel like I can never make up my mind. I'm actually in that kind of situation right now, as I'm growing out a pixie cut and can't decide what color to do, lol. I like both of the ideas the red to orange ombre or the rose gold look, I think I prefer the rose gold look right now because it seems very chic!
H'Okay-- sooooo
I did it. I dyed it pinky, goldish, silver, dusty rose. lol.
I don't even know what to call it besides pretty cool. hahah.
It is a bit uneven but that's because of my lack of knowledge with bleaching and toning. Bleach and toner quite frankly scare the bejesus out of me! lol
You can see below the difference of colors in different light.
I think I'll hit it again with peach in a couple of days. haha
