Hi there. I have always really wanted ginger hair, and have been to the salon three times(over the course of a year), only to have it an odd, brownish color. Hence, I've decided to try doing it myself and came across Lush's Caca Rouge and the results in the reviews were beautiful *loveeyes*. However, after doing some research the color I am hoping to achieve through henna can only be done with a blonde base(actually, close to my natural color which is dirty blonde). It seems as though I would have to lighten my hair a couple levels(not a lot, maybe 2-3 levels) and the only way to do that is with bleach. I have also heard that henna over recently bleached hair could turn green, but all the examples given were those who bleached from a dark brown to a pale blonde. Could the process I am proposing work, or should I try something else? I am kind of scared ๐ฎ . Thank you for any and all advice ๐
I am not sure if this helps but my hair color now is close to this:

If your current shade is dyed rather than your virgin hair, start by removing it with a colour remover. Your base under the dye will already be lighter than it was before you dyed it due to the peroxide in the dye.
The colour that you want shouldn't be too hard to achieve, you could use direct dyes if you didn't want to go for henna. Henna is quite unpredictable, and in most cases totally permanent. If you go the direct dye route you have the option to change the colour in a few months if you want.
Thanks so much!:)
