Okay, I realize this sounds like a no-brainer, but I'm really anxious about my hair turning green or just bright yellow/orange. I slapped a bleach bath on to lighten it to gold/yellow for a medium/dark blonde dye, but it turned out lighter than expected, not quite platinum blonde but almost. There's a bit of yellow at the roots and the rest is fairly neutral and light. I want my hair to be a neutral-to-ashy level 8. I love a bit of gold but in my experience box dyes with golden tones always turns out brassy.
I live in Norway so I only have standard box kits available. Casting Creme Gloss and various other Loreal dyes, Schwarzkopf, Garnier and the likes. I was thinking of using a 8.1 shade in order to avoid brass, but I'm concerned it will turn greenish. But then again just 8 might be too yellow for my skin tone.
Obviously I'll do a strand test first but I don't want to waste the money, lol.

Update for those wondering the same thing: I put a Schwarzkopf 8.0 dye over it which was supposed to be a non-ashy medium blonde suited for light hair. It turned out a dark/medium murky blonde with a green tinge that still somehow found a way to look brassy.

I currently have L'Oreal Excellence in 7.31 over, knowing very well it will probably make me a brunette again. I just hope it's a pretty, not too dark brunette. Gah. If this turns out okay, I swear to all gods old and new I will never dye my hair again.
