I've been a hair extension junkie since I was about 14, always only ever using clip ins. Now I'm older I can't be bothered with the hassle of putting them in & removing them day in day out, not to mention how annoying it is to wash the extensions every time you wash your hair so they fade at the same rate! I want something more long term, whats people found best? I'm drifting towards micro loops, but am also debating tape ins & sew ins. Anybody had any experience with any of these?
I haven't personally used extensions but I know people who have used tape ins and I've read up on them. they shouldn't be used on fragile hair like bleached because they can break your hair or take it out when you remove them. that happened to a friend who had bleached/damaged hair. I've heard a few bad things about other types of extensions but micro loops seem okay. they just require tightening every so often. if you get sew ins and they braid too tight it can put stress on your scalp.
I had a sew i weave and it didnt damage my hair at all. I took it out myself too it was really easy. When I undid the plaits there was only natural hair shedding like you would imagine.
I thought I would enjoy having them in more than I did though, as the maintenance did my head in a bit! i basically thought they would be pretty much the same to look after as clip in's and would allow me to do the same styles. In reality, i had to sleep with them in two plaits and have them wavy the next day. Looked alright though still.
How comes you slept with them in plaits? Was they uncomfortable to sleep in or just didn't style as well or as easy as expected?
They would matt otherwise with me moving around in my sleep.
