I got my virgin dark brown hair Balayage hightlights but the guy accidentally made some strands too blotchy. So a month later I tried another salon and they did a good job and fixing most of the blotchiness but it still wasn't the color I was going for. I ended up with more copper and red tones. I'm wanting a ashy, smokey, beige shade of highlights.
I'm going to state to purchase purple shampoo for the brassiness and olaplex. But I'm thinking maybe I should get a toner to achieve the color I want? Or was it still an overall bad hair job and I just need to get it redone again in a few months? Idk I'm a licensed nail tech and a respiratory therapy student so I don't know much about hair lol. Any suggestions would be appreciated

If you have red tones, you don't want purple shampoo. That's made for yellow tones. You want something that is green based, or blue based if it's orange tones. Can't really comment properly until you manage to upload a picture.
(I've deleted your other attempts at adding photos for now)
Does this look like balayage highlights to y'all? Or is it just the color thats off? There's more gold and brassy tones which does look good with my skin tone :/
Im hoping to go more ashy/smokey/beige tones. Will using a toner help? I'm thinking about buying Pravana purple shampoo and for toning Saloncare 20 vol creme developer with Wella t18 toner. What do y'all think? Or any other brands that are better?

If you use any dye that requires developer you will lift the natural parts of your hair revealing more warm tones.
T18 is for platinum blonde hair, it won't show on orange. Your hair is not light enough for the colours in the pics, if you want ashy tones you will need to go darker to counteract the orange.
Okays thanks for the input! So what do you suggest me purchasing? Since it's more orange tones I should use a blue shampoo instead along with a certain toner? I guess I thought it looked more of a golden color so I couldn't decide either purple or blue
I don't think shampoo will help here.
You can make a toner with direct dye diluted in conditioner, a purple based blue should help eg Directions Neon Blue or Special effects Blue Velvet
Is there a specific toner I should use with the blue violet hair dye? Also will take away my highlights after the application and make it look like one color? I like the look of highlights
I mean to use the blue dye (diluted) as a toner.
It will show more on the lighter hair, but it won't make the highlights disappear. It will make everything slightly more ash toned/cooler so all the variations in colour will still be there
So just not the violet blue dye in any kind of white conditioner? Will it make it look darker or ashier?
As wicked pixie said, it'll make it look more ash 🙂 you're using a tiny amount of blue to tone, so it won't be darker though it may appear slightly darker in some lights. Generally it will look the same, just less orange tones.
And a purple based blue (just specifying as it is different to a violet blue) dye mixed with conditioner, yes.
I guess I didn't know exactly how much blue to put in the conditioner and now my hair is blue. Its blue!! :-[ help!!! I should of just stook with using Joica blue shampoo
Just wash it a few times with sulphate based shampoo and hot water, and it will fade. Dandruff or clarifying shampoo will shift it fastest. Leave it on your hair for 15 minutes or so
You only need a tiny amount of dye, and always (ALWAYS!) strand test before doing your whole head
Okay so I panicked and bleached it! Then put olaplex treatment and it worked!! My hair feels super soft and smooth but it's probably damaged as heck lol but as long as there isn't blue in it I'm fine!
Well, I'm glad it worked, but my god that was potentially the worst thing you could have done! You could have pushed that blue further into your hair. Never, ever bleach in a panic.
