Hi All

EDIT: It's rubbish! I ended up throwing it in the trash. Waste of money!

Has any tried Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil?

Also, how does it compare to other hair oils you might of tried?

Thanks πŸ™‚

It's not bad, but I think using pure Argan or coconut oil or Sesa oil gives  more moisture. This is the stuff they use when they give you that quick scalp massage before a shampoo. It's just Okay IMO, nothing spectacular

No problem πŸ™‚ have you tried their Damage remedy conditioner or treatment? Holy cow they are amazing! The conditioner is pricey but it is the best product I have ever used.
It does have a couple silicones in it, but I swear to you this stuff is incredible and helps the hair tremendously. Like you can clarify your hair to remove the silicones and your hair feels in much better shape afterwards than it did before using it. It has alfalfa leaf powder, linseed extract, barley, quinoa seed extract, sea buckthorn oil, sandalwood oil, olive oil, and plenty of other good things packed into it.

I've never tried any of their products. I keep meaning to take the plunge but for some reason or another I put it off. The oil might be the first thing I try. I was thinking of using a drop of the Dry Remedy Oil, a drop of Redken Diamond Oil and a drop of pure Argan Oil, mixing it together and applying it to damp hair. All silicone free and packed full of fatty acid goodness.

EDIT: I'm a hair oil junkie  *yay*

That sounds like a nice treat for your hair πŸ™‚  I just think Aveda'a oil on it's own isn't that fabulous - it's not BAD, but it could be better like adding some Argan oil to it, or Redken's like you said

Yeah their products really are wonderful, they're just expensive. I miss working in an Aveda salon, I used to get stuff so much cheaper and a lot of stuff for free! I would use their damage remedy conditioner all the time if it wasn't $130 for a liter of it (33oz) or $27 for 6.7oz, which the small tube isn't worth the time even driving to an Aveda Salon to buy because there's just so little in it. If I'm going to buy it  I just buy the liter sized bottle so it lasts a long time and I'm not being skimpy with it trying to make it stretch farther lol. If you do get the chance though, their products really are nice, and though they can be pricey, they usually are worth every penny!

I agree with you, it works out more economical to buy the liter sizes. I've been reading about a shampoo and conditioner that sounds like it could be holy grail status for me that I want to try. Luckily I've found a seller who has the liter sizes a bit cheaper than everywhere else. Usually it's like $89 for the shampoo and $114 for the conditioner. I've found them both for a total of $110 with free shipping (rightly so) btw I'm in the UK so I used XE Currency Converter which may or may not be accurate πŸ™‚
