Asian Hair to Purple?

Hello! My current hair color (first pic attached) is mainly brown right now but I have let my roots grow out a lot so it's black on the top. I've only died my hair twice, once in August and then once at the end of September, both were done at home w/ box dyes. I've never personally dyed my hair, I've always had a friend do it so I'm not familiar with how to do it on myself.

But I was really curious if there was a way to achieve this (second and third pic attached) color of hair without bleaching it?

You should be able to achieve a very dark purple over the brown, I sometimes use purples over a dyed brown base and they show up but aren't super bright. I'm not sure which purples to suggest as I haven't used one I'm totally happy with yet, but there are other people here who will know better.

The only thing is it probably won't show up over your black roots and won't stick to them well anyway so if you want it right up to the root you'll need to colour your roots to match your lengths first. It would look cool with a bit of black root though I think!

I agree on the black roots, I think that slight ombre would look fantastic with this color, its almost looking burgundy to me on my screen but I could be wrong, so you might need a purple with a red base to it to achieve that color

Hey! I think Bordeau from Adore would work great. the purple tones in it would mute out the golden and give you some depth. It's dark enough that it won't be too dramatic from the roots. I've been growing out natural and using semi permanents (primarily adore) and it's awesome cause it washes out and you can try others.
