Ash dark blond/light brown

Hi all!
Am hoping you can give me a bit of advise on the best product to use to achieve a light ash brown/dark blonde type colour.
I've attached a picture of my hair currently (it's very golden for the majority of the length, based on previous dyes (haven't dyed my hair in about 12 months or so) and sun exposure, and more ashy and mousey brown at the roots as that's my natural colour).
I've used standard high street box dyes before to try and achieve this and always find that they leave me with an orange halo, or at least orange roots. I want the colour to have no red or orangey tones to it. I also want it to be an easy at home fix, easily accessible in the U.K., and affordable.
It's something I've tried before in the past but have never been able to truly achieve the look I'm going for.
