I keep hearing about Mane n Tail and at the hairdressers today she actually had a few bottles so I thought hmmm! She swore by it herself to help breakage hence why she bought some herself in.

Anyone had a go?

I was tempted as well but heard contrasting things, some people have said it really did help their hair, others said they wouldn't even use it on their actual horse and that sort of put me off

I think that's what put me off before, when I considered buying it online. She swore by it, she isnt the type to hardsell products at all, but she was talking about similar breakage she had, like mine, and she said it made a difference. I wondered if it was really all in her head, as she said she felt the difference two weeks later (no chance) but grabbed it anyway

I might be wrong,  but aren't they really silicone heavy?  Tgat will 'fix' breakage

That's exactly what I suspected to be honest!

Every time someone brings this up it reminds me of Blades of Glory and the Verticoli XD.

I think that such a high concentration of SLS can't be good for your hair, personally.  Even low SLS shampoos irritate the hell out of my scalp.

I considered buying it and spent about 1-2 weeks on youtube looking at reviews and tracking peoples hair like a creep and I saw like a half to an inch a month growth...which is normal. So I haven't bought it, I think there is sulfates in and silicones, but don't hold me to it, I could be wrong.

I tried it (obviously not expecting results lol, not that crazy) and the texture reminds me of some volumising shampoo, no wonder people get it into their heads that it helps

I had a friend that swore by it when we were  in elementary/middle school. She used to get highlights, she had naturally really thick hair, and her pony tail reminded me of a horse tail lol. Her hair always looked fab so I tried it (fine hair) and it made my hair feel like hell, totally hated it.

I used about 10+ years ago and it was ok. I remember thinking it wasn't the worst I had used. At first my hair felt thicker but after a while it felt like it was weighing my hair down. So I didn't buy any more.

i've used it.

i watched loads of videos on youtube about how it made peoples hair grow and i'm desperate for longer hair so i thought i'd try it out.

i ordered it online and thought i'd go all the way with effort on this one so i had my weave taken out and not put back in. When i first started using it I thought it wasnt helping at all and was a waste of money. But when i started alternating it between washing with normal shampoos my hair started growing. So once a week i'd wash it with Mane 'n' Tail and every other time i washed it i justed general shampoos and conditioners, but it did work, it gave me and extra inch id say.

i hope this helped, at least a little bit πŸ™‚
(p.s. i bought both the shampoo and the conditioner)
