I'm a nursing student, but I'll have to dye out my hair when I'm on placement and go back to normal blonde πŸ™

Im a cosmetologist, but since i had my son in april 2011 ive been just seeing clients at home. I did work in a salon again for about 6 months about 5 months after he was born, but it was a chain salon + i hated it, my GM was psychotic, and all the other employees quit because of her, so it was just me + the psycho. So i quit. I had my daughter just a couple months ago so im pretty much a stay at home mom, and i take clients whenever they need me. I also am a freelance illustrator and designer. Ive had a silk scarf, a mens neck tie, a sweatshirt design + a tweed jacket all semi mass produced. So I am lucky I get to do whatever I want with my hair/tattoos/piercings. I want to go through the University of Phoenix (online school) for Health Administration though. So when I graduate and am job hunting Im positive I will have to lean towards a conservative fashion. I don't think many hospital directors have blue hair, neck tattoos and monroes lol.

I work in IT support and other than the odd roll of the eyes I get very little hassle about my hair, although as I have no real aspiration to progress I couldn't give a flying fish what anyone thinks!! πŸ˜‰

A xXx

Unfortunately, I'm an accountant, so: 1) it would be looked down upon to do anything hugely radical with my hair, and 2) it's not a greatly creative job.

I majored in art and, had I pursued it, would have done something in colour theory - I love colour!  But as my job provides little opportunity for creativity, I compensate with fashion, and makeup, ...

... and hair.  My colleagues have commented so often in the last several weeks, "you lightened your hair again" - sometimes I had lightened it a teeny bit more, but sometimes, I'd just toned it or washed it or re-styled it!

I'm a trainee primary school teacher.

I currently have red wine ish coloured hair which is a mega compromise for me as I REALLY want bright bright red hair. I don't think anyone would mind, though...I go to work in jeans and a jumper and they don't have any kind of rules. I haven't been told to hide away any of my tattoos yet!

I'm just nervous of it! Maybe over Christmas holidays I'll take a brave pill! πŸ˜€

I'm a PhD student and I want to be an academic - right now I teach Film Studies to first year students. No-one seems to mind my Cruella, but, I suppose at least blac and white/blonde are both natural colours? Sometimes I get comments from other academics but usually they're complementary -- or at least, sometimes a bit snide, but mostly liking it or being bewildered but in a sort of pleasant way? My students haven't said anything about it either.

Having said that, I spend most of my time when I'm not teaching in my house in my pyjamas, so, it's hardly anyone else's concern πŸ˜€

I work at a facility here in my town called "American Greetings." We produce the cards that many of you may see on the shelves in the greeting card aisles of your local stores. My job is to run a machine that puts the glitter that many American Greetings cards have.

I was in acupuncture school to get a master of traditional Chinese medicine/licensed acupuncturist. I had two years left to go when due to my health I just couldn't go on any further. I finally realized that I can't peruse that path unless my health improved and need to do school or work from home. Now I'm putting my years of art lessons to use and I work as a freelance painter. Being sick isn't fun but I would say it worked out because I'm doing my dream job.

Just started working as a library assistant, only temporary but hoping it leads to further employment. So far my hair is not that bright etc, it is relatively "normal" but I don't think they would mind much if it was different(ish). Plenty of elderly people in that may disapprove though haha.

Usually it's the elderly people who love my hair at work!

I'm a biology student and a chef, so my hair is covered up at work but my bosses love it! The head of the waiters always complains that my hair is wasted in the kitchen and says that I should be a waitress πŸ™‚
