I had sweet potato crepes with coriander and tamarind sauce and a ginger syrup drizzle. Then a tasty vegan mocha-chip muffin for desert. I'm super pleased with the muffins especially since I've enver been much good at baking, but these came out perfect (in my totally humble opinion ;D )

When I'm having a horrible day I always have a pot noodle and a cheese sandwich for dipping.
So that's what I had today.

Tonight I'm oven roasting baby red potatoes with green peppers, sausage and a habanero.  πŸ™‚

I also had oven roasted red potatoes with chicken nuggets and my amazing red pepper sauce for dipping. Black cherry gelato for dessert. Wish I was sharing it.

We had sushi last night from the sushi bar my housemate works at. Very good it was too.

I love sushi! Making your own is dead easy, it's a bit pricey to buy all the stuff in a oner but the rice, mirin and rice vinegar last an age so you only need to buy the nori and your filling of choice for future batches. We had a sushi party one night where we all made our own combinations then stuffed our faces after -- great night, happy memories πŸ˜€

Yeah, I've made my own a lot πŸ™‚ And my housemate is Japanese, so we can have sushi whenever and we always have everything. But you can get more variation of fish and meat fillings if you just buy it! And It's just easier sometimes, basically just having a takeaway!

Oh, a tip for people in the UK wanting to make sushi. Don't buy expensive branded sushi rice. Buy a store own pudding rice. It's exactly the same but a fraction of the price.

I've only ever tried sushi once... and it was pretty good.  I'm always afraid to try it.  My husband has had food poisoning twice in his life, so he has said will never try it.

Last night I made chicken corn chowder and home baked yeast rolls.  It was really good!

Tonight is homemade pizza.

MM, you can make it with cooked fish, or veggies, or chicken, or anything! That's the beauty, just think of the rice as a base and add to it whatever you fancy. Smoked salmon makes a lovely topping/filling if that would be a reasonable alternative for your hubby.

My kids love to make it too, fun for all the family!

Mod, I'm not even a big fish fan, never have been. I stick mostly to crab stick ones, chicken, smoked salmon, omelette, duck and veggie ones. All perfectly acceptable.

Tonight it couldn't get more British though. Pork loin chops, mash, carrot and apple sauce.

Okay, I'll have to give it a try sometime... and see if I can convince hubby to try some cooked sushi.  πŸ˜‰  I love seafood, so I'm sure I'd love any of it.

Tonight we changed plans because I just didn't feel like cooking at all, so we ordered out for pizza... though pork loin chops sound really good.  So does bbq chicken!
