I love to cook... it's one of my favourite things to do.  I know it's a wee bit later than supper time across the pond now tonight, but I thought it would be fun to share ideas and perhaps even some recipes for dinner?  Sometimes, I'm uninspired and get into a rut with the foods I like to cook.  I'll happily share recipes... but bear in mind I often fix enough to feed a small army.   I am also a "dump" cook.  If I know I'll need to recreate a dish, then I try to write things down and somewhat measure them out as I go... but usually, I just dump in a little of this and that until it tastes right to me... and call it yummy!  8)

Tonight we are having cream of potato soup that I make with mostly cauliflower and some potato to cut down on the carb load and get some more "hidden" veggies into my crew.  I'll be baking up fresh dinner rolls to serve with it.  We usually top our potato soup with a bit of crumbled bacon and shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

What is (was) for dinner tonight at your house?

My Minions wanted a cereal night, so I had Corn Chex, my eldest had Rice Krispies, and my youngest had Cheerio's. πŸ˜€

I had turkey breast, my OH refuses to eat it so I cook it when I'm just eating for one, and roast potatoes ^.^
I cook it in a bag in the oven filled with chicken stock which seasons and keeps it moist.

My OH and I are dump cooks too, but we also mostly eat reduced food (both the turkey and roast potatoes were in the reduced section) so we get some funny combinations

Soup and rolls sounds good right now though πŸ˜€

We had turkey sausage sandwiches (as in ... sausage made from turkey, not a turkey and sausage sandwich).

Simple, quick and delicious.

We had barbecue ribs, curly fries and sweetcorn.

Classy? Nope. Delicious? Hell yeah!

Ooo, it all sounds good, actually!  πŸ™‚  Ours is ALMOST ready...

My minions LOVE cereal night... lol, almost breaks my heart sometimes that they'll choose to eat that stuff from a box over the good food that I cook.  πŸ˜‰  *snort*

oooh please share the cream of potato soup "recipe"! I love swapping potatoes with cauliflower for extra veggies πŸ™‚

tonight I'll probably have some leftover chili that my mom brought since I'm still sick and definitely don't want to do any cooking tonight.

I googled corn chex, and i'm so excited. They sound like Kellogs old Crispix that I love and havent been able to get hold of for years! Late night food shopping for me.
