That's what I disliked about living in Cornwall, everyone knew every single thing! I do miss the pasties and sea, though!
I do miss the sea. In my opinion, the beaches of North Devon and South Wales (and the parts of Cornwall I've been to) are the best in the country and I really do miss them. Not the biggest fan of pasties though, sorry! π
I hated living in North Devon at the time, because I was young and didn't appreciate what it had to offer. I was always going to London to shop and Bristol or Exeter for gigs and stuff. It is a great place to raise kids though, i love the beaches, moors and countryside now.
Janine, i didn't go to Uni until I was 26, so it would have been 1997-2000. I am only half an hour away from Bath now.
That's right when my ex was working there! Lol

Where I live isn't so 'everyone knows your business' as much as it was when we were kids, I remember walking to school and some parent or other would always stop and say jump in we'll take you up and we'd never think anything of it and it was just so and so's mum but I'd never let me niece do it now, but I miss how it used to be like that! (I pretty much live on the same street I grew up on since moving back down here haha) Janine I can't believe you don't like pasties! Ivor Dewdneys are the most effective hangover cure ever
WP - I live right on the entrance to the moors (South Hams entrance) and it is my most favourite place out of anywhere I've been and I lived in the Lincolnshire countryside for a short while, just not the same any place else
I miss the beach as well, even though Southport's beaches are not a patch on Devon's. Although it's South Devon that has my heart - my family has its roots in Salcombe.
Coo - totally missed this whole sw conversation! Lol!
I love living here cos it's so laid back. It doesn't matter what you wear or how you look- you are who you are and that's it.
When I lived upcountry it was so much more tense the whole time. Things like you just couldn't leave the house even to go to tesco without a full face of make-up. Here I've seen people in tesco in pjs and dressing gown!
I suppose I find it more chilled than anywhere else cos people really don't care about that superficial stuff. Although I am not and never will be 'cornish'. You have to be about 73rd generation down here to qualify for that! ::)
I live in Scarborough which is a 40 min drive from york. Its right at the beach and is lovely, you should all come and say hello! π
I'm double lucky though as I work in Bridlington (which is pretty run down sadly) but the beach is literally 2mins from our shop!
The furthest south I've been is Oxford and London, unsure which is lower!
I'm a Yorkshire girl, just South Yorkshire really.
Lived in a few places in Barnsley with my family, always east from the center. Last October I moved to Brincliffe, Sheffield and absolutely fell in live with Sheffield, and tomorrow I'm moving to Ecclesfield, Sheffield π
I expect I'll be moving in another year or two although still in the Sheffield area. Hopefully buying a cute 2 bedroomed house π I want a study and BBQ area π
Another Kent person here! I'm in Rochester.
I was born in Surrey, moved to S.Devon with Mum after parents split up.
Teens in Hampshire.
Manchester area for a few years & I live in Glasgow now.
