I nearly suggested Breaking Bad, but in the end didn't because I only watched the first 2 series! It just got too much after that lol

Oo, Mad Men if you haven't watched it already.

I haven't really been into series much before, but have watched a quite few since i became a student. I really enjoy both Misfits, Utopia the Mimic and Dexter but the BF doesn't like them.

We both loved American Horror Story (s1-3) and Breaking Bad is amazing- if you haven't seen it, watch it! First series i have ever watched from start to finish.

We started watching The tunnel last night, so we will see how we go with that.

I don't like scifi, vampires or anything period, but i'd like to try more as i probably haven't tried to watch any, just dismissing it.

Thanks for all your help, i will speak to the BF and see what we watch next.

Supernatural gets much better. Season 1 is quite slow but it really picks up and Jensen ackles is very funny.

I don't know if anyone is into this, I'm more into sitcoms! How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, New Girl (although it's not for everyone and Jess (main charachter) is very annoying to begin with but after around 3 episodes she simmers down abit, although I loved her annoying-ness)..... erm I can't think of anything else I watch, total mind blank. I'm quite tried, I'll add on if I think of anything else.

Did anyone else watch Utopia?

My husband LOVES Utopia.

Orange Is The New Black is bloody brilliant. It's a Netflix series and we're nearly finished with the first season. It's so good to see women of all shapes, sizes and shades represented πŸ™‚

Trollied is funny, especially if you've ever worked in a supermarket!

Ok, put on your seatbelts ... these are my favourite TV series.

Sci Fi:

Firefly  My favourite tv show ever.  It got cancelled after one series, but goddamnit, it's the most amazing series that ever existed.  Dystopian future with wild wild west elements.
Stargate Universe  Another one cancelled too soon.  A group of soldiers and civilians are trapped on a spaceship in an unknown part of the universe, trying to get home.

Fantasy:
Game of Thrones  So many storylines, so many amazing characters.  Magical medieval power struggle with witches and dragons and giants.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer  Clever dialogue and really strong characters.  Girl tries to deal with normal life while being the one supernatural being who can save the world.

Drama:
The Dome  A giant dome comes down over a town and there is no way out.  Four kids in the town are able to communicate with the dome like it's a living thing ... why?  What does it want?
Six Feet Under  A dysfunctional family of undertakers.  Best series finale I have ever seen, ever.
Dead Like Me  Another one cancelled far too soon.  An 18 year old girl becomes a grim reaper, and hates the fact that fate handed her the gig--so she tries to get out of reaping whenever she can.  She also can't seem to let go of her family, and tries to help her little sister navigate through one of the worst adolescences ever.
Orange is the New Black  A woman turns herself in for a crime that was committed ten years ago.

Comedy:
Parks and Rec  Ahh, this is amazing.  A woman is really passionate about her town and government.  First series starts with her planning to fill in a giant ditch and turn it in to a park.

I'll stop there.  I would have also suggested American Horror Story and New Girl, but you said you already watch that πŸ™‚

i watched "the returned" on netflix one day after my son button-mashed the xbox controller and it came on.  i got four episodes in before my husband got home from work-- then i sat him down and started the series over for him so we could watch together.

then, my sister came to visit, and we binge-watched all eight episodes with her.  she called me a few days later, obviously amidst re-watching with a friend of hers.

it is a seriously addictive french drama about a town where the dead have suddenly returned as if nothing has happened and no time has passed.  it is so well done, and so well acted.  there are only eight episodes so far, but there is a second season in the works, apparently.

...ive seen it likened to "lost" in that there are so many mysteries surrounding it.  i know it had all of us debating!  i cant say enough good things.

- Sherlock (it's perfection!)
- Elementary (the american version, with Lucy Lui!)
- Criminal Minds (old as heck, but still going strong!)
- Grey's Anatomy (because.. why not?! :D)
- Orange is the New black (Both seasons are on Netflix!)

I enjoy original versions of The Bridge/Broen, The Killing & Johan Falk, The Nicolas Le Floch Affair, Braquo, Anno 1790, Engrenages or Spiral and most other int.myst. many with women whom kick it! Some of the First shows I binge watched were Sharpe, Hornblower, Dexter, Supernatural. I think I enjoyed Strike Back. I am watching Outlander & love time travel shows. I wish Legend of the Seeker, Stargate(s), Farscape, Battlestar, Torchwood  shows were still playing.

Ooh I am a series fanatic! I will try naming stuff that hasn't been named before.

I do definitely definitely definitely second Orange is the New Black. It's hilarious and so well-written. One of my latest favourites.

I'd personally recommend Californication, but only if you're ok with sex and drugs scenes. Oh and Hannibal! Such a pretty series, every episode is pure photographic art, while it's about serial killer Hannibal Lecter. Great acting, too.

I really love Louis Theroux's documentaries. There's three seasons, I believe. I don't know how he does it, but he always gets people to open up and share their stories. I have learnt so much from him!

I have also just started watching Fargo the other day (as I heard so many good things about it), and it looked promising.
