I love it. It has great costumes, sets and scenery, good acting (apart from Peter Dinklage's dreadful English accent lol) a great storyline and characters, drama, fantasy, excitement, intelligence and humour. Plus there are dragons, what more could you want?!
It is quite explicit in language, violence and sex, so not the sort of thing you want to watch with your granny. It is probably the only TV adaptation I have seen that is better than the original books.

It is good. Took me the entire first series to get into it though! I'm not wildly into fantasy, so it took some time. I have to admit to going off it the more it gets into supernatural stuff.

I spend all my days, literally, watching stuff on Netflix, amazon prime, bbc iplayer and Hulu! Lol

House of Cards is, in my opinion, brilliant. On Netflix. I loved the original British one and this is a rare case of being great, if not better than the original, in it's own right.

The Killing is great if you like serious murder stuff! The original and the us remake. Though, a big slow for some peoples taste.

It's always sunny in Philadelphia is very funny.

Homeland.

Archer is really funny, but took me about 4 episodes to get into. Really glad I did though!

The league is pretty good to, even though  it's about a fantasy (American) football league!

Portlandia is funny, but not to everyone's taste I expect!

Can't think of anything else right now! I'm currently catching up with project runway! The last three days have been all 'make it work' and 'one week and the next you're out!'

The Walking Dead, Supernatural, Falling Skies, Defiance.

My top 4 and personally I LOVE them and would recommend to anyone! πŸ™‚

Definitely recommend Game of Thrones! It really is that good, I shyed away from it for ages because everyone was going on and on about it and that puts me off sometimes but when I watched it I was like "Oh, ok, I see what everyone was talking about now."

If you're into horror then you have to watch American Horror Story and The Walking Dead, two of my favourite shows.

My other half got me into Suits, it wasn't my thing at all but I got really into it.

edit: oh and Buffy the Vampire Slayer if you haven't seen it already.

Try a few. If it's not your kind of thing, the first ep might make it a bit difficult. The first one put me off a bit, but I carried on. Do some cleaning or something at the same time lol

What kind of thing do you generally like? I watch so much I can maybe give more ideas, but without knowing what you like at all it's difficult to narrow down πŸ˜€

If you're into scifi you should see Battlestar Galactica. Though I think if someone is into scifi they would've already seen it, haha. (it's on netflix)

The 4400 is another scifi-ish series that I love, also on netflix.

24 is amazing, the last one is/was on tv recently, but I refuse to watch it because I can't watch 24 on tv. Because I'd have to wait a week for the next episode and that would kill me. So I'm waiting for the dvd box. I have all the 24 seasons on dvd and the movie. One season was a bit much for me, but in the next season this problem was addressed, and I came to appreciate it more.

I'm not too good with recommending non scifi or crime stuff, though. I have put House of Cards on netflix on my list because I was curious. Seeing it recommended here makes me want to see it.

Lots of people are recommending Supernatural, we watched the pilot (because everyone was raving about it and it has Jared Padelecki, we are huge Gilmore Girls fans lol) but it was dreadful. Didn't get what all the fuss was about, does it get better, should we persevere? I hardly watch TV at all so it has to be really good for me to bother.

I tried with about 8 episodes of Supernatural, no less than 5 times lol I gave up when I realised none of them held my attention at all.

Very shocked that no one has mentioned breaking bad...watch this! Literally addictive, and Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are paired together so well.

Also Banshee and Suits! Love a bit of these just to watch beautiful men on tv for an hour :p
