I watched that, I felt really disappointed in the ending to be honest.
I quite liked Love. It was actually better than I was expecting lol my boyfriend put it on because the woman from community is in it and I groaned! But it wasn't the sickly sappy, lovey dovey thing I was expecting, so I felt much better π

You know something, that is one of my favourite films. I have it on 'keep' on sky+ and have watched it about 6 times. I like these kind of...abstract films.
Oh, I don't know a film called Love! I thought we were talking about the new Netflix series!

Oops, my bad....
Yeah it's a new tv series x
Kimmy Schmidt season 2 soon! I can't wait *1*
Yeah I meant the tv series π I watched it mostly coz I really like Gillian Jacobs but there was just something about the tone that didn't sit well with me- there were parts I really liked (the episode about magic particularly, I always say that about magic, there's just a trick to it and just because I don't know that trick doesn't mean I'm going to be impressed - I don't know how to swim but I don't stand next to the pool oohing and aahing hahah! ). I think it just got on my nerves how in things like that we're supposed to root for the guy who's a bit of an underdog and not very conventionally handsome, but all the girls in it (even the ones who are supposed to have serious problems) are these perfect skinned, flawless bodied godesses! I sometimes take things too seriously I know ha!
Kimmy Schmidt was great, really looking forward to that!
I'm not even sure if we were even supposed to root for him either. I think in Judd Apatow things, everyone is very flawed. The men tend to be the central character, but I guess that's partly because he's a man and it's what he know, and because it's just expected! Ugh.
However, that does irritate me a lot too, that all the girls are certainly more perfect looking than guys, if not entirely perfect. We've been watching Lucifer on Amazon and I'm getting more and more irritated that they came up with a story line to justify having a super good looking female cop. Granted, the Lucifer character is very good looking too, but not in the same way and, well, he's playing the devil on earth, he's going to make himself look good, right?!
It's not that I think super good looking people can't be cops, just why do the women always have to be super good looking in TV shows. The men often are too, but there's often much more ordinary looking men. The more ordinary looking women (by TV standards) are glammed up the nines or quirky (like Garcia on Criminal Minds). It's just irritating.
I really thought Love was going to be an horrendous chick flick tv series because I knew nothing about it. I don't like chick flicks generally!
I totally didn't like Gus. So I hated how it ended! Like because the girl admitted her problems to him he now suddenly liked her again?x
I'll be honest, I can't remember the end. I have a super power. It's called, "not being able to remember most of the plot points of a movie/tv series I literally just watched"! lol
Hahah I have that super power too, it's awesome coz you can watch repeats countless times and still get a surprise at the end! I have a weird thing where I can quote things people said in it, but if someone asked me to tell them the plot I'd be stuck!
It did cross my mind that maybe you're not meant to root for any of them but I then found it really hard to care what happened to them, I think it can be such a delicate balance when shows are like that - like Girls is one of my favourite shows and I couldn't honestly say I completely like any of the characters, but I do have a soft spot for many of them - I think it can be down to seeing a certain vulnerability in them.
It really does bug me in stuff when the woman is either overly groomed or inappropriately dressed for the task in hand - the amount of times I sit here shouting "wear shoes you can run in, dammit!" at the tv is ridiculous! My biggest pet hate though is the popular 'change, conform and be happy' storyline (see Grease or the Breakfast Club) where someone is only alternative coz they're unhappy about something but then when the popular people let them change and be exactly like them and they get a boyfriend who only likes them when they conform everything is A-Ok! Ha see told you I take things too seriously!
Back to the topic in hand, just noticed there's some new Trailer Park Boys up on Netflix, that's my week sorted!
Watching Jericho this week. Really enjoying it so far. Another apocalypse/disaster type drama tv show. Love that Skeet Ulrich is in it, had such a crush on him in the late '90s haha!
Kimmy Schmidt Season 2 is killing me, so funny!
"Run Lillian!" Haha x
We watched Jericho when it was on (8 years ago?). It seemed to get kind of confusing towards the end as I remember... It's not really surprising to me it didn't last.
I... Kind of have to admit... I find kimmy Schmidt kind of annoying! I know, I'm an awful person! My boyfriend really likes it though. I watched about a half of the first one, and while I love the actress and enjoyed her in the US 'The Office', kimmy Schmidt just bugs me. I'm sorry!
I watched a documentary the other day that I thought was interesting, informative and kind of fun. Chuck Norris vrs Communism. It's all about how bootlegged western videos affected the lives of mid to late 80s Romanians.
