Moving to Winsford, Cheshire.

I don't know much about the area, but I find it helpful to look at crime maps on the police.uk website.  You can zoom in on the map and see which neighbourhoods have higher incidents of reported crime and what types of crime they are.  It looks like the bulk of the crime in the Winsford area is anti social behaviour, so there are probably a lot of drunk kids about, but there's not a huge amount of theft, and a relatively small amount of violence (which is probably down to drunk kids).  Also, if you zoom right in to street level, you can see what sorts of crime happened where--for example, brawls in the local pub, so you know what areas to avoid at night, or particular houses where anti social behaviour is a major issue (looking at the map, there's a couple of shopping centres on Dene Drive that have a lot of crime, and there's a house on Pennine Way with lots of anti social behaviour, and another on Leslie Road).

It might help you feel more comfortable about the area you're moving in to, or help you know what streets to avoid if you haven't found a place yet.

Thank you very much that's really helpful! We have found a place and we don't have much choice but to go there atm as we can't find anywhere else suitable close to where my boyfriend jobs is which starts next week! Thank you again for the link ect 🙂

well theres half the crimes there than in Scarborough, and our town is pretty quiet!

Well that's hopeful then, I think lol. I went and viewed the house and had a job interview there the same time yesterday. Loved the place so far and the people seemed really friendly, if I get this job a lot of the people working there live in winsford so at least there will be some familiar faces about!
