Pippa, please do!  It was about twenty quid for entry to everything.  There's a working farm and nature reserve on site, too, so you see sheep and deer running around everywhere!  The place was last lived in properly in the 1920s, and then a small family lived in it until the late 1940s, then it was just one man and the part-time servants he hired, but he only lived in a small part of the house and the rest was left to go derelict.  It was turned over to the National Trust in the 80s and they decided to preserve it as is, as an example of an estate house in decline.  The people who owned it were proper eccentrics, as well--when the motorcar came in, they wouldn't allow it up their drive, so people had to stop the car at the road and they'd send a horse and carriage to fetch them.

In short, it's an amazing place and has a truly fascinating history!

Georgy and Phee, hope you guys have a fabulous time in Wales : )

Going to do some shopping today and nose around the comic book store for some manga and toys ^_^

Squishy that's awesome, the cracked shabbyness, looks amazing! I love stuff that's been neglected and looks run down (as long as I don't have to live in it. ;D )

Another good vibration with an OMG undertone... My daughter's having her first trial day at the Academy today. I can't believe she's going up to secondary school! I dropped her off at 8.45 this morning and I actually didn't want to leave her there! It was like the first day of school all over again! Eeeps!

She's become such a young lady and her school report came home yesterday glowing with praise for all her hard work in this last year. She's really got down to it and made something of herself, I couldn't be more proud. For a special needs kid she does so well.

My son's report came home too and he's also doing exceptionally well, especially in reading. Which is no surprise as he's always got his head in a book, just like me at his age. The teacher signed off the report saying she'll miss him especially because he's always so smiley. :-))))

So yay for my kids, they're growing too fast for my liking but they're doing really well.

*gasp*

Those are absolutely gorgeous!  Did you freehand the spots with art pens or use decals?

Either way, they are impressive!

The purple spots are freehanded with a normal nail polish brush, and the black outlines are freehanded with a nail art pen.  Not really that difficult, it's mostly just random splodges, but thank you!
