Mindi, you have no idea how much needed! My coworker is a lazy slacker who takes the p and tries to shove all his work onto me (led to a very interesting conversation recently where I quite loudly proclaimed, with both bosses sitting right next to us "So, ** asked you to look into this? Why are you passing it to me?" "Uh, well, uh ...")
Couple that with half of my job entails dealing with people whining to me about why I should give them a break and make their figures look better "oh, it's not our fault! This/this/then that happened!" And when I point out that either it appears they're exaggerating or said things shouldn't have had an impact ... raaah. These things can go on for days.
So yeah, totally looking forward to ten days off. Really, really need it.
Matty, oooohhhhhhh! I'll have to wait til after my birthday to see if anyone gets it for me XD I don't know why, but Cage is one of my strange crushes ... I just really like the guy. : 3
Gah I used to work with a guy who seriously believed that women were beneath him. He used to pass his work onto me as well, saying that he was above me so could delegate his work out to me etc. We were the same age and everything, even went to the same school. So one day, as he felt so darned important I got him to do some work that I pretended I couldn't cope with, you know coz I was a dumb girl etc 😉 . We used to have to sign all our work and co-sign if more than one person did the job etc but I lumped this huge order on him. Naturally the guy made a total hash of it because the reason he'd farm his work out was because he was just plain useless. So this order got messed up big time and only his signature was on it. Boy did he get a finger wagging of a lifetime from the boss... Who happened to be female. XD
Hehe ^_^ This guy is just so self-absorbed and generally selfish. Both bosses were out of office at the end of last week and he decided it was a great time to misbehave, make 20 min personal phone calls, etc. I don't mind a *little* breaking of rules while the bosses are out, but it was just rediculous. And I'll tell him important info and he'll say "oh, I'm doing this now" "I did that two hours ago." "Did you?" "Yes, I did say ..." "Oh, yeah, I sorta remember hearing something about it now that you mention it." And he's so selfish that his partner's mother died and not five days later he insisted on going out with the lads because he needed some normalcy.
It's not unnoticed, though. I know certain behaviours of his (like excessively chatting to people and his personal calls) have been addressed and will probably have some disciplinary action if he doesn't stop it. I've also been advised that it's been noticed he tries to delegate all his work to me, and I'm to refuse whenever he does so because he's apparently been told when he's asked to do something, he's not to share it with me. And as soon as the bosses are gone (or sometimes when they're there! The cheek!) he'll be like "oh, we need to do this." "Do we? I wasn't told I had to do it."
He just drives me mad ... in addition to all that he has a horrible habit of chewing on anything and everything, slurping pens and chewing off his fingernails and then sitting there crunching them between his teeth. *shudder*
He's a real winner.
Anyway! That probably should have gone in the moan thread, lol.
Having a pretty decent day today, so far. Resisted the temptation of a turkey, cranberry and stuffing baguette at lunch. Looked sooooo good, but 650+ calories ... stuck to a 350 cal chicken salad wrap. Got some chicken pasta tonight, nom nom.
Plus, half a day of work down! Three and a half to go, yeah!
*squee* Two and a half more days til I'm on holiday! Not going anywhere, but being out of here is plenty of reason to celebrate!
And going to see Transformers tonight. And having an awesome hair day (even the fringe is behaving!).
Good, good times.
The Sainsbury's delivery just arrived and is full of really awesome free-from goodies for me to eat. I hate having food allergies, but it makes me happy when I can actually make nutritious food for myself instead of having to mope around not eating and/or eat and get sick 🙂
Finished working at glasto 🙂 just got a pretty gold glittery topshop top from a charity shop for £2.50 as well
Just ate a whole punnet of cherries to myself!
Transformers was awesome : )
Spending time with friend's tonight to celebrate new job, and last day of work tomorrow for a very blissfull 10 days ^_^
Oh, and I has a birthday coming up in a week and a half. Yesh.
Happy Burfdai!
Hubby's making a big deal about my 40th in August. Gah, I hate a fuss. Just take me out for coffee where I can hide and nobody knows my name.
a lady who I met on the bus helped me home with my groceries, then my grandmother phoned to make sure I'd got my cheque and told me that whatever bills come in to let her know and she'd help out because, and I quote, 'youre going to get that degree if it kills us all' And I came to the peaceful realisation that my friend can be as selfish and spiteful as she wants, her friendship is not more important to me than having the career and the future that I've wanted since long before I met her.
At a girl, Phee. You go girl!
Yay Phee! That's the way to deal with it! To hell with what other people think/want/do, just concentrate on your goals and go get your future!
Hehe fanks Matty : ) We don't do big celebrations, just spend the day together and have cake : )
You go, Phee! Your friend should appreciate and support your dream, not try to take it from you or take away your means of achieving it.
I'm feeling much better after visiting with friends : ) Funny baby can see colours now and was fascinated by my hair (poor thing got overstimulated ... big wide eyes, eyebrows up and mouth agape, then eventually started to fuss a little because it was all too much ... faced him to the tv and window and he was perfectly fine. But his face was hilarious while he was trying to take in my pink hair). Still poorly, but had a good night with some good laughs and celebrations. Home now and chilling out. Not going to even worry about tomorrow. I do what I do and then it's not my problem for ten straight days.
Hehe, I love baby faces when they get all "Oooohh!" like that. I usually see at least one around Tesco when I do my shopping. XD
Ahh it's a lovely day. Not too hot but the sun is out and my kids are home because of the teacher's strike. I like having my kids at home. Not for too long though, the school can have them back tomorrow lol!
I saw my mum this week, haven't seen her since about february? maybe? But anyway she gave me some belated easter eggs 😀 nomnomnom.
And I generally had a lovely time in York with my mum and sister, we went up the Minster tower and walked along the castle walls and went on a Ghost Walk 😀
Aaaand I'm going to pick my boyf up from work in a bit and I haven't seen him all week so I'm looking forward to it <3
