If your hair is dry but strong, you'd benefit more from a deep conditioner.

Reconstructors should be used when it starts to go stretchy when wet.  You can also have small breakages and not know it, so if your hair feels "wispy" at the ends (as my hairdresser described it), basically, if it feels really super-fine at the ends, you probably are losing about 1cm of hair due to breakage that you're not really noticing--in which case a reconstructor would be best.

used the k-pak reconstructor and the intense hydrator on tuesday night and was pleased with the results as my hair was less gummy and silky soft .even now nearly two days later it's still soft and my thick hair which first thing in the morning tends to be a bit wild, has been a lot easier to deal with. *yay*

Is it worth doing this on healthy hair straight after a bleach bath & tone? My hair is highlighted all over, slightly dry at the ends/lightest parts, but I know it'll be slightly damaged after I do a bleach bath (with coconut oil), could I benefit from using this?

If you're planning on dying straight after, not until after you wash the dye off as it will coat your hair and stop the dye from taking.

But its always advisable to reconstruct after bleaching.

I don't really deep condition my hair as I haven't found one that works for my hair, it doesn't feel any different after.

I box dye bleach my hair every month  before I re dye, now when I comb my hair my legs get covered in hairs where my ends have split, they feel awful so do you think I could benefit from this treatment?

I don't know if I can justify spending sooooo much just on hair products?
plus, I just shed out lots of money converting to SLS & Silicone free products

If your hair has split, then the only thing that will fix it is a cut.  Splits travel up the hair shaft, causing damage (often, the damage inside the hair is approx twice the length of the split).

When you box bleach, do you do all of your hair or just your roots?  Also, do you use a semi over the top or another permanent dye?

Joico will benefit hair that has been fried but has not yet split.  It deposits protein in areas where bleaching has destroyed the protein in the hair, so it would be ideal to use after the broken damage has been cut out.  Once a hair is damaged to splitting, there really isn't anything that can be done to repair it.

Ok thank you for your reply, I think a cut will be better.

Just to answer your questions, I dye my roots and the last 10 mins put it on the rest of my hair and I use semi after the bleach.

IMO get a haircut and intensive treat with coconut oil, DreadieLover. Do you really need to put the bleach on your lengths for the last ten minutes?

Okay everyone knows my hair "situation". Should I spend 20 dollars and get it? So I shampoo, and apply this for 5 mins only? Do I have to condition it after I wash it out? How often should I use it? Sounds promising...

Yus! You need to deep condition afterwards as protein is very drying for hair, and you can leave it in longer if you want, 5 mins is like the minimum time, people have been known to leave it in overnight!
And I'd use it every couple of washes until your hair feels healthy again and then once a week/every two weeks depending on how your hair's feeling πŸ™‚

Thanks! Deep condition, do you mean it's okay to use one with cones like Aussie 3 min miracle?
It was sold out on that link πŸ™ but I see it at my drugstore online
